Excellent
I have been delighted with my decision to purchase Nationwide Pet Insurance. The coverage is excellent, the premiums reasonable and the claims process is fast and easy. In the past year I've used it for regular vet visits, x-rays required after eating a sock and neutering. My preference would be not need in for the next few years, but non the less, I'll have the piece of mind that it's there if needed.

Would never be without pet insurance
Belle is the first dog I owned and decided to look into pet insurance for her. I researched several pet insurance companies and am happy I chose Nationwide. They have been professionals from the beginning and I have never had any issues with them. My claims have always been processed promptly. Having pet insurance helps with vet bills and I will never be without it again.

What's the point of pet insurance if they won't insure my pet...
My insurance policy had prescription medication as something they covered. Yet when I brought my dog to the vet and got the medication, I was told (30 DAYS LATER), that I wasn't able to get reimbursed. What is the point of pet insurance if they don't even insure your pet?! I cancelled my policy right after. I do NOT recommend!

Easy and fast
the claim process was so easy and they refunded me all that I expected. No additional questions or form. I was skeptical going into the claim process that they would fight me on it. This was not the case it was so fast and simple. I very much appreciate the service to take care of my pet

ASPCA Health Care Insurance ROCKS..
I have been an ASPCA Pet Health client for many almost 13 years, covering three dogs. I am so grateful for your coverage, and the rapid attention my claims have received. Over the 13 years I have been involved with ASPCA Pet Health Insurance, I have unfortunately lost two of my fur babies, to sudden and fatal illnesses, and your agency not only responded rapidly to my claims, I received the kindest and most thoughtful messages of condolences for their loss. I am and will be an ASPCA Pet Health Insurance client or life; as there will always be a fur baby ( or 2) in my life and they deserve not only the best Veterinary care, they deserve wonderful health coverage. Thank you for all you do. Regards, Davida Shevitz

Join Trupanion if you want to pay monthly for coverage they'll never provide!
Join Trupanion if you want to pay monthly to fight for coverage that you won't get! Started a policy with Trupanion after our dog ingested a full dog treat and needed surgery. That surgery cost $5000+ during the height of the COVID-19 breakout. Which meant things got really tight. A month later (after he healed) we had one nice day outside finally. The dogs were out with us as they usually are and he ate a piece of mulch while outside. The mulch ended up sideways in his intestine and needed removal. So he goes in for the same surgery twice in a month period - another $5000+, but good news we thought, we have Trupanion! Trupanion found EVERY reason to decline the claim. Picked out insignificant events from our vets notes and twisted them so that they wouldn't have to cover the claim. Our vet even sent in an appeal for us to clarify the notes and they still listed those as reasons to deny the final claim. We also checked with them BEFORE we signed up for the policy to see if something like this would be covered in the future considering he just went through the surgery. If they said no or probably not up front, we probably would have still had the policy, tried for coverage and then wouldn't have been mad when it wasn't covered. But they said if it has only happened once before (as it has), they would cover. SO policy cancelled, and money wasted on a month of coverage that provided nothing. Get Trupanion if you can get all of your surgeries pre-approved, which is what they told me I should have done over the phone. Hopefully your dog doesn't die while their making that decision, but of course that would be easier for them wouldn't it.

Peace of Mind
Another easy, quick and thorough response to our claim. It’s comforting to know we can always count on our pet insurance, especially in these unsettling times.

UPDATE: May 5/2020 Happy to say that our claim was approved. It was a very long and frustrating process, especially for a first claim, so I've given more stars but not full as of yet. The manager that I spoke with was lovely. It would have been great to have this option sooner. They are now going to provide a summary of what might not be covered in the future, this may be a beneficial option for anyone signing up with an existing pet. I hope it will save us some frustration in the future. Time will tell how future claims will go (although here's hoping we won't have any!)
