Good, but expensive

My labrador was covered for the last 5 years with QuickCare Gold. Over this time she had only a couple of minor emergencies and they paid, minus the $50 deductible right away. By the way, each time I put in a claim, they would call to acknowledge receiving the claim and call again when it was processed and again when the check is sent. Very nice! Her last illness required major surgery, drugs and hospitalization for a week. I was surprised that they covered all but the (at the time) 10% co-pay. Unfortunately this quickly ate up the $3000 per illness maximum. At the same time, the rates, deductibles and co-pays rose quite a bit. Hershey lost her fight with cancer, but we have a new puppy now. I may try another company for this new lab.

I think it is advisable to have animal insurance.

We have used Petshealth care for our other pets and for our dog Misty, a Chihuahua mix. Misty is about 17 months old and she has used the insurance for a couple of small claims and one large claim of $1,200. We received a fair amount after the 80%. We have collected more than we have paid in since getting the insurance in July,20l0. It was a good decision to purchase this insurance.

Love the Wellness program

Very thorough company, easy to read forms, quick reimbursement for the wellness exam. Am getting ready for the spaying and microchip and hope to save some $$ once this is complete. Considering adding other pets in the near future for more discounts. My vet is very impressed with the company so far and may refer new patients.

A Company with a Refreshing Approach!

My two miniature poodles Louis and Otto are my children, they mean the world to me. When Louis suffered from Lyme disease it took many tests to diagnose his illness. I was beside myself because he was in pain. The bill was steep and going forward I wanted to make sure that both boys were protected in the event of any future accidents or illnesses. After extensive research, I narrowed my choice to two insurance companies. I was concerned about the possibility of pre-existing conditions limiting coverage for the boys. After interviewing both finalists, I chose Healthy Paws for several reasons. The two most compelling reasons were the rigorous medical record review process and Jen Sherwood, the Claims Manager. I was encouraged to find a company that was willing to spend the time up front to make sure that I knew what was covered and not covered. Jen spent several hours with me reviewing Louis and Otto's records. I was really struck by her extensive knowledge along with her respectful, honest and warm manner. When Jen offered to contact the boys’ Vet to get more information on a particular condition noted in Otto's records I knew that my research and instinct had paid off! As a result of Jen’s going the full mile, Healthy Paws was able to provide Otto full accident and illness coverage. Pets Best Has Definitely Exceeded My Expectations!

I am a first time pet owner. I had no clue where to even begin when researching for an insurance company. My vet - Irvine Vet. Svcs recommended insuring my pet through Pets Best. Not only is my vet the best, but they certainly recommended the BEST pet insurance co. My puppy had a recent gastronomy for ingesting a foreign object. I had to pay almost $2,500 out-of-pocket, but when I called Pets Best they said this procedure is covered and that I would be reimbursed 80% with an average turnaround time of less than two weeks. The turnaround time alone is unbeatable. Aside of the benefits that come with being a member, what I found most important was that each time I called to check status on my claim, a very friendly, professional rep would answer all my questions. I told her...folks from Idaho must ALL be so very nice and courteous. It's so hard to find good customer service these days...and hands down...Pets Best offers first class / five-star service.

Excellent Coverage!!

Dobie is a 6 year old terrier mix who managed to rupture a disk in his back. Injury happened on/about Jan. 22. I had full coverage reimbursement, final check on March 2!! Dobie needed back/spinal surgery and you just can't go to the doc down the street for that. We ended up at the Vet Neuro Center......and of course the best and most expensive place in town. Dobie has a puppy mill rescue sister and breaking in a new buddy was just not in our plan so we got Dobie fixed, and they did an excellent job. The "Embracers" checked on us via email regularly (which is right up my busy alley) and did an outstanding job in caring for us and paying our claim. Dobie is out of claim money for the year, but promises to behave until at least next year.

Wouldn't do without it!

We adopted a Yorkie and knew from past experience how expense Vet bills can be. We picked up a card for Petfirst Healthcare at a Pet Supply store. I called to check on pricing and all the details. I purchased it right away. It has been a very good investment. Our Vet was even surprised when we told her about Petfirst. They had a representive from another pet insurance there and spoke with them about their insurance, but they only paid about 50%. Do the paper work and send it in and you'll receive a check within two weeks. I'm very happy with Petfirst Healthcare and highly recommend it.

So far so great!

I have not yet filed my claims for the vet and specialist visit I had yesterday when my Newfie/Border Collie was beset with acute cervical pain. However, I have been extremely impressed with the level of customer service thus far. The specialist recommended an MRI - between $1500-2k - for which Embrace reported required a pre-cert. Unfortunately they also said I would hear within 5 business days. That seemed a little long to me in light of what was, and is, in my mind a medical emergency. However, the rep took the time to inform me of what steps could speed up the process and everyone I spoke with on the phone was very kind and sympathetic. I received e-mail notifications when my paperwork was received and the pre-cert was expedited and returned to me with an authorizion within 24 hours!!! I am thrilled to have found an insurance that targets the conditions I am most concerned about in my large breed dog and have recommended Embrace to all of my pet-owning friends.

money hungry & unreliable

I asked all kinds of question due to I had experience with my other cat(pass away)at 22yrs old. What I went through money wise I took out insurance on my cats. 2 cats are under VPI (which I love but premium go up every year, by age of cat) So with ASPCA I thought I would be covered and when I took my cat in they denied the bill. They get into the program and then when you need it they say it is not covered. WHAT A RIPOFF COMPANY - SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED. I am paying outrages premium a month and I am on disablity.
