I have been pleased with this coverage.

I have a rescued Greyhound and she got sick in May of this year. Thank goodness my good friend told me about ASPCA Pet insurance because it saved me a lot of money in Vet. bills. I only have the plan for injury & illness but I feel it is well worth the monthly payment. Chris

Zane and the Cactus

My long hair Chiwawa mix ran into a cactus the kind with very large stickers and also very small stickers. I took him to the vet, where he needed to be put under to get all of the small, difficult to see stickers out. He emerged unscathed, I turned the paperwork into ASPCA and they covered it as agreed.I feel, however, that if the dog insurance carriers really want to help their "dog-parents", they will communicate with the vets when it comes to cost of care. Some snake bite sirems can become very costly and the ins. cos won't want to pay for them. Without restraining the doctors, maybe some established sirems and emergency practices could be reviewed so that they are covered and don't become to expensive. Then you insurance buyer would really have the confidence to buy your product

Above & Beyond

I've used Pets Best for the last 3 years for my two dogs. I have the 80/20 with wellness coverage on both dogs. Buster has gone to to ER and follow up care for an accident and just recently Bailey was diagnosed with gastroentiritis. It's such a relief to know that with out hesistation you can take your dog to any hospital or vet for treatment. Both dogs have gotten sick over holiday weekends when the normal vet is closed. The claim process has always been easy but just recently they have made it easier with improvements to their website. You can upload the scanned forms and receipts directly to their website. My last claim for Bailey's illness was processed within 4 days. They broke out all the emergency, follow up care and wellness costs. After spending roughly $1300 I received $934 back. Wonderful relief but the only minor suggestion I would have is that they consolidate all the reimbursent checks to save paper and postage. I received 5 different checks. Also if you have the opportunity lock into the same rate for a minor fee. I wish I would have done that 3 years ago however the increase has not been bad ($4 in years). The customer service is wonderful. If you ever have questions or concerns they are always happy to help. With Bailey's recent illness during the holiday weekend, he had to see different vets that were open. I called PetsBest to make sure it was ok and they expressed their concern and well wishes for Bailey. Makes you feel like you're not just another number.

ASPCA saved our baby dogs

We own a miniature daschund (Grace) and an English bulldog (Rebel). They got into a pack of disposable razors, and were brought in for treatment. After being treated for the razor incident, Grace was found to have a heart condition. ASPCA covered 80% of the cost for both incidents. They were fairly quick to respond, and they didn't give us any trouble. Without them, we could not have afforded care for our baby dogs.

Great service over 13 years, well worth the money

I have had PetCare since both my cats were kittens. I learned the hard way with my first two cats how awful it was to not have money when a pet is ill. They have covered much of my one cats thyroid, testing and pills. And still do. I recently lost my younger cat to cancer and the bill was around 1300.00 and then another 200.00 for the euthanasia. They paid about 900.00 due to the deductable of 250.00 as he was over 10 (which makes sense as yes pet will get sicker more as they get older and these people are in the business to make money as to be expected) and the co payment. They also send condolensence with the last cheque and when I called to end his policy they said it was taken care of as they know when they see the awful words euthanasia what needs to be done. I have the MasterCare Plus plan. I have always received payment within seven to fourteen business days. Their customer service has become 100% better than it use to be just a couple of years ago. I remember being on hold over an hour now there is always a CSR within two to five minutes. They have an auto caller that lets you know your claim was received and another to say a cheque was issued. This is a great feature. I figure that there use to only be two pet insurance in Canada way back when but now with more coming in they have had to become better at customer service and they have. I do disagree with the co-payment as I figure the deductable should stand on its own and things have not al

good service

my dog Labrador was diagnosed for pancreatic insufficiency that was cost me over $1700 for all kind examinations and treatments . I was very pleased when I've got such a quick respond from Insurance about a proses my claim, Total it took under 48 hours from time I fax the claim and Insurance sent me money 90% per coverage . thank Trupanion,

Much better than the competition

After dealing with VPI for several years, and never being paid anything close to what was claimed, I have found Pets Best to be a refreshing alternative to the other companies. While it may have taken me a week or two to get reimbursed, VPI always took 2-3 months, and after all that wait I never received half of the actual bill.

Not Great, but worth the money

I've had my dog insured with this company for 4 years and plan to renew again. They rarely pay the full 80% because their "usual and customary expenses" are pretty conservative, but even at the more typical 60% that I receive it has been worthwhile. Customer service was initially poor but has been very good for the past year. They have been very strict about the rules concerning exclusions, pre-existing conditions, and waiting periods, so read your policy carefully. My rates have gone up about 10% each year, but my dog is getting quite old and has had several costly surgeries yet they keep renewing her so I'm satisfied.

Perfect

I've never had an issue submitting my Bulldog's skin infection claims. They've paid every single dime of his vet bills back to me and always very quickly. I wish my other insurers were this easy to deal with.
