Trupanion has been excellent insurance and their staff very helpful! They had a pre-authorization back to me within hours and when I have submitted claims they have been fair and have paid very promptly.Whenever I have mentioned what insurance I have to any vet or specialist, they express how impressed they are with Trupanion as well. It is not cheap to cover my 10 year old dog but it has paid off to cover her.

Like you're probably doing right now, I scoured the internet looking for reviews on the various pet insurance companies out there. I settled with Healthy Paws as it seemed to have the best customer service and claim turnaround time based on reviews (both here and on Yelp). I can now truly say that having Healthy Paws is the best thing we could have ever done for our French Bulldog as well as for our peace of mind and wallet. At 10 months old, Henry has racked up close to $3,000 in vet bills, $2,000 of that being at the emergency vet for a weekend. The emergency vet trip was my first claim to Healthy Paws. After a weekend of stress, worry, and mounting credit card totals due to his delicate stomach, I contacted Healthy Paws on the following Tuesday. I submitted the invoices as well as his scanned vet records and by the next Monday, I had my reimbursement check in my hands ready for deposit. Incredible. Not too mention that the folks at Healthy Paws always send a follow-up email asking about Henry and how he is doing. Each time I have had a claim, this has been the standard of care and timeliness that I have received. Healthy Paws has paid for itself multiple times over for our little guy. I have referred Healthy Paws to my friends, family, and co-workers. I only wish they covered people too, since they are better than my insurance company!

Choose Embrace based on several recommendations from other people. I have owned several dogs but this was the first time I purchased pet insurance and thank goodness I did. My puppy had to spend a week in the ICU resulting in a substantial bill. Embrace helped me with submitting the claims and processed the payment super fast. Could not be happier!

I have had health insurance coverage for my feline and canine pets for over a decade and have tried a number of different pet insurance companies over the years. Our most recent claim involved an expensive surgical procedure to correct the congenitally stenotic nares of a Persian cat we had recently adopted in Colorado through Seattle Persian and Himalayan Rescue. This condition had not until recently caused her to exhibit symptoms of respiratory distress. It progressed rather quickly, and was causing her an increasing amount of difficulty with breathing and thus inhibited her from being able to exercise and play with our other kitties. We have needed vet attention several times for our little rescue Min Pin. Every time, Healthy Paws has sent out a reimbursement check immediately. This last time, Ami went to the doctor on Friday, I faxed my invoice on Monday, they emailed me with the status on Tuesday and I received the check on Saturday. I greatly appreciate the fast service, especially when this visit required minor surgery and was a bit on the expensive side. I chose 90% coverage and I'm glad I did. The cost of the coverage is very reasonable and it surly gives me piece of mind. The staff shows true concern for my puppies; you can tell they love animals when you speak to them on the telephone. It makes me feel better knowing that this isn't just an insurance company, they are also helping homeless pets. After researching all of the different pet insurances, I chose Healthy Paws from the written reviews that I read on the web. They had the best reviews and I have found them to all be true. I highly recommend Healthy Paws. They will cover my doggies as long as I have doggies. That will be forever!

You can train your dog, you can get your dog the best food and toys ever, you can love your dog. All of these things can be done after you forget to do them for a while and after all the other bills are paid. You can't forget to get health and wellness insurance for you dog. I am so very disappointed in Trupanion. My dog Cooper was playing and torn his ACL, which required surgery. I had just recently purchased the policy, but was relieved to discover that because it was an accident it would be covered. The claim was denied saying i wasn't in the grace period. I contacted them and resubmitted it. It was denied because they said the ACL tear was a 'pre - existing' condition. My vet was furious with Trupanion and called them and emailed several times. My dog is 2, in excellent health and has had zero problems before this. My vet and I took it to the third step and had a 3rd party appeal. They denied it also, they said MY VET agreed that it was a pre existing condition, which she didn't. I have all of the emails and paperwork and am escalating this to the California Insurance Commissioner. This was a $4000 bill that should have been covered.
