Fantastic

Our 11 yr old Samoyed had several mammary masses removed. Trupanion was great in reimbursing our expenses. Communication from Trupanion has been excellent.

BETTER THAN BC/BS

Usually I never review anything. This place is unusually good. I bought this insurance in October and had three claims since then with no hassles. Last week I turned in a bill at 9am and got a response back from them by noon saying my claim was already processed and that a check was going in the mail. I got it 2 business days later. No joke! I have had no increase in premiums nor was it a hassle submitting a claim. No questions were asked even. I wish I had this for my health insurance instead of Blue Cross/Blue Shield. The best part is that its super easy to file. Our vet filed for us twice for free and I filed once myself online. Although we own a dog. This place is the cats pajamas. Pun intended.

Still waiting...

I've been waiting weeks for them to pay my claim. They keep asking for more records. They should have them all by now. I know they're trying to dig up something that makes a bacterial infection a pre-existing condition. We spent $14000 getting our dog better. The $5000 Pet's Best is supposed to cover sure would be nice. They've already denied our claim for our other dog's tooth extraction claiming it was "periodontal disease" when she's a small dog with an under bite with no gingivitis. At least that one was less than our deductible (but it would be nice to have it applied).

eazy to work with

I placed my dog under insurance with Trupanion when he was 1 year old. He is now almost 8years old and he has diabetics and cataracts. I am glad that I have an insurance for him and that the company I am working with is Trupanion. This company is very eazy to work with.

Worth every penny!

After my first dog got sick and spending over 9k to give him the best chances of survival I decided to get insurance on my second dog. Best decision I have made. I spend roughly 1600-1800 a year on his vet care since he has developed arthritis. Trupanion true to their policy has reimbursed me a good portion back each time (which actually comes to roughly what I spend to have him insured each year.) So in the end its like I have free insurance for my dog since I would spend the money anyways .. and now I have the peace of mind knowing that I won't get stuck financially if he needs more medical attention. If I ever get another pet, puppy or older, I will always get Trupanion insurance and have been recommending them to my friends. Its worth the money for the peace of mind.

Excellent Claims Processing

Within a six week time frame my dog Emma was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that affects her toenails and then had to have a mast cell tumor removed. I submitted two claims online which was very easy to do. The first claim included Emma's complete records since she has been insured by Healthy Paws for 3 1/2 years and these were the first claims. Within a week the claim was processed. I expected longer since it was the first claim. The next claim was a day or two after surgery and received reimbursement checks a week later. I have worked in the health insurance industry for many years and know prompt and correct claims processing makes a company. Healthy Paws could give lessons to our health insurance companies. I researched several pet insurance companies and chose Healthy Paws as I thought it fit my needs the best and now I know I made the right decision.

I have it for me, why not my Babies

I got my first pet ever in 1999 for my mother who became anorexic after a stroke. She wouldn't eat ever and lost over 50 lbs. so I came home with a kitty. My first pet at age 55. Had no experience with pets, vets, or anything. Completely ignorant. I saw an ad for Pet Insurance, did some research, and purchased the pet insurance with VPI for our Toby David. I have used VPI for Gabriella, Nannete, and now Tesa Maria, and Tommi Joseph. VPI is Wonderful, automatic, there via their website, auto payment, submit a claim, vet recognized everywhere and have received more and more publicity as more and more pet owners utilize pet insurance. We take care of ourselves, why not our pets. After my experience of gratitude to my babies, who kept my mother company and brought her back to life by eating and feeding them, they deserve nothing else but the best. VPI is my Insurance of Choice because I love my babies and love VPI. They send birthday cards, letters of sympathy. I love VPI

Caring folks, easy claim submission, fast pay!!!

On April 17th, 2015 we took, Coco, our happy, playful, friendly and loving German Short Hair Pointer mix to our vet with what was thought to be a bladder infection. After two weeks of antibiotics there was no improvement. An ultra-sound was performed and a suspicious mass was found in the Trigone area of the bladder. A week later an expensive Cystoscopy was done and it disclosed the worst possible diagnosis. A transitional cell carcinoma was identified and because of its location, was declared inoperable. For many dogs, identification of a mass in the bladder presented a choice for the pet owner. Either perform the Cystoscopy at a cost of about $2000 or take the dog home until the symptom got so bad the pet would have to be euthanized - usually in days or a week or two at most. Many pet owners cannot afford $2000, just to identify with certainty, the cause of the problem. Especially knowing that future treatments could mean thousands more. In Coco’s case we did not have to agonize over that choice. Coco was insured by HealthyPaws Pet Insurance! A very wise decision I had made several years ago. In exchange for a very affordable premium my wife and I were also insured against having to choose between taking on debt to fight the cancer or surrender and put a family member down. HealthyPaws has exceeded all expectations of the service that would be provided. For the first several years we had no major claims and the ones we did submit were paid quickly. I emphasize “quickly” because I have come to expect a check to be in my mail box in less than a week. On several occasion in 3 days! Their on-line claim filing is fast and easy. No longer do you have to rely on your Vet’s staff to complete and send the invoice to your insurance company. You can easily do it yourself and watch the status change from claim “submitted” to “processed” on the same day then completed in the next day or two. Completed, in my experience means the check is in the mail. I never expected reimbursement to be that fast for any insurance company – pet or human! I have written this endorsement to thank HealthyPaws for all they have done to make a difficult situation easier. When I called them to ask if they would cover Chemo-Therapy, the question was answered even more quickly than their excellent claim service. I still remember the exact words. “Of course, that’s what we are here for!” They have continued to be there for us and I am happy to report that with her fou
