Because if they told me there was a $250 deductible I didn't hear it.
Because if they told me there was a $250 deductible, I didn't hear it. Because I called to find a vet that took direct pmt. I went to that vet and they didn't seem to know how the insurance worked, wanted me to pay and get reimbursement, left me in the Texas sun for 2 hours waiting on them to figure it out for a simple ear infection which physical all they did was exam and look at bacteria under microscope. They said that the insurance declined payment for the exam and they didn't know why. In other words, the insurance and vet appointment was a miserable experience. And I had a $150 vet bill for an ear infection.

Surgery on a beloved pet is stressful...
but Trupanion makes ir a little easier. Trupanion provided an estimate before the surgical procedure so I knew what my financial responsibility would be. My vet filed the paperwork and was paid directly by Trupanion. Trupanion has covered my cat Watson for eight years and I'm very pleased with the service.

Claims process was fast and efficient. So I’m happy about that! My only comment is regarding your policy of not paying exam fees. 1st, I understand they are not covered under the policy. I just question the wisdom of this position ... most rational people would expect a vet to examine a dog in order to properly do their job, especially a sick one. An exam seems to be a necessary procedure in order to either diagnose or recommend further treatment.
