Fast and uncomplicated

We had never had pet insurance before, but seeing how sophisticated -and expensive- veterinary care has become decided to get insurance for our long-hair dachshund, Álfie at age 7, in spite of the fact that he had always been very healthy. This decision paid off three weeks ago when Älfie screamed in pain and was unable to walk, with what turned out to be Inter Vertebral Disc Disease. The MRI, surgery, hospitalization etc were very expensive, but Healthy Paws paid 90% of the cost less than two weeks after we submitted the claim. All insurance should be so straight forward! We have a happy pup and are very happy pet guardians!

So greatful for Healthy Paws!

Our 4.5 year old Labrador retriever chases a tennis ball like a maniac. A few weeks ago she started limping when she came home from the park. A visit to the vet revealed a torn cruciate ligament (akin to the human ACL). Surgery was scheduled for the next day. I submitted a claim when we paid the vet. That was a week and a half ago. Today I got a notification that Healthy Paws was sending me a check for 80% of the bill (that's my coverage). I was amazed! They had no questions for me. They just processed the claim and they are sending me a check. Actually, they did have a question for me. They emailed me and asked how she is doing. I could not be happier. We will never be without Healthy Paws for any of our animals.

Thankful!!

I'm a grandmother & have never had insurance on a DOG! Our Vet. mentioned Trupanion and after the expense from our last dog we decided to try it with our new pup. Tilly was vomiting and needed emergency surgery at an out of town hospital to remove an acorn. I didn't even think about the insurance until days late when she was home. I took the form to my in-town Vet and they faxed it in. Got the paperwork rolling and I didn't have to run around to all the doctors/hospitals that worked on our Tilly. Best thing we ever did for our little girl! We have health insurance, why shouldn't she!

Thank you ASPCA Pet Insurance!

ASPCA was so very kind when I explained Genaveve's illness. After several studies, the hospital explained that she likely has steroid responsive meningitis. We were heartbroken but remain optimistic. Genaveve is still on prednisone and is doing better. She is monitored closely. ASPCA has been through this with us all the way and continues to be. I'm so grateful to them in the way they handled our claims and gave us emotional support as well. Thank you ASPCA! Jennie

Great Customer Service

I was warned when I decided to buy pet insurance that the companies that offer the insurance are a scam and they never pay off claims or delay payment. My experience with ASPCA Pet Insurance has been the complete opposite. They have worked with me to get claims submitted and paid correctly, answer every question and do what they say. There customer service is the best!

Best Decision Ever!

We ended up with two Labrador puppies this year. Our boy was diagnosed with Parvo Virus at 8 months, despite being appropriately vaccinated. He was hospitalized for over a week. We were able to focus on getting him the best care without worrying too much about the cost (even with 90% coverage, it was still expensive).Healthy Paws has been responsive and great to work with!

Life Savers

I can't recommend Healthy Paws enough for what they have done for our family. My wife and I were out of the country when our dog was hit by a car. When they got her to the hospital and told us everything they would need to do we panicked. I called Healthy Paws and they calmed us down and made sure that everything was handled immediately. They stepped up and dealt with the hospital so that we could get on a plane home to be able to deal directly. If not for their compassion and helpfulness our dog would have had no chance. She still has a long road but Healthy Paws has been by our side every step of the way. Their process is seamless and they have bent over backwards to make sure things go smoothly. They are a blessing.

Great start with Figo

Buckle up; this is a long one.Some years ago, we considered insurance coverage for our dog, but opted at the time not to purchase because it didn't make sense from a value standpoint, most particularly because the plans available then only seemed to pay what they felt like paying (a.k.a. usual and customary rates). More recently, with two dogs now, we felt it worth re-investigating the state of the offerings, and were happy to find that there are some more reasonable choices now. I'm posting here because a) I find value in what we discovered, and b) the concept of insurance works best when the risk is spread across many participants. Primary factors in our having chosen Figo -- even though they don't offer bovine coverage (that's cows, btw), which is fine because we don't have any of those: - Payment based on vet bill (vs usual and customary), reasoning is self explanatory; - Annual deductable (vs per incident), reasoning is that you don't want to start the clock over for each separate incident, and premiums should be lower with a per incident deductable, but they don’t seem to be; - Inclusion of exam fee (vs NOT), reasoning, it is part of the spend, so why don't others count this?! - Alternative treatments are covered (though I’m not expecting to use any); - No maximum lifetime payout; - Option to have no maximum annual payout (thought this option costs a little more); - Reasonable premium (competitive, relative to at-best comparable plans from other providers). Figo is new, so with that comes some newer thinking around old product. Namely, they’ve got a modernized wrapper around the claims filing process and document management -- all online via the pet cloud. I initially pooh pooh’d that, since it is just a set of online folders (is it for us or for them?), but having records all organized online is turning out to be nice, compared to paper folders in my file cabinet. And while we are relatively new customers, we’ve had positive experience so far. They’ve been accessible and responsive to suggestions; our first claim was processed (toward deductable) quickly and painlessly, and our patient got a nice get well card in the mail. We really purchased this for anything major that might come along, so we're happy with the peace of mind at a reasonable price. I'm giving Figo a rating of 10 so it gets placed where it should in the rankings, which are otherwise inflated. (There is always room for improvement, so nobody should really be gett
