Healthy Paws has been great! We have had significant costs for our dog and Healthy Paws more than took care of us and in a quick manner. I would recommend them to anyone.

Worthless Insurance
This was my first experience with pet insurance. Had a new puppy and decided to give it a try. Of the claims I submitted to date almost nothing was paid, maybe 5% at best. A total waste of money as they deny virtually everything and take a long time to process claims as well. Do not go with Pets Best (Worst) if you expect coverage.

I changed Insurance for the better
I did have a different insurance on 2 of my dogs for 4 years It cost me $139 a month with 70% on $500 deductible. I quit them and now I can afford insurance on all my dogs. I have 7 dogs and now I have insurance on all of them for $173 a month with 80% and $250 deductible. I haven't had to use them yet. The customer service people are nice and knowledgeable. The rates are some of the best. I would recommend them.

While Trupanion was the most expensive of all the policies I looked at for my dog, I went with them after a lot of research on claim submission, coverage, and maximum payouts (hint: Trupanion doesn’t have one; others do). I am thankful every day that I chose Trupanion over the others. My dog has had well over $10,000 worth of bills over the past year (myriad vet visits and 4 surgeries) and Trupanion has never fought or refused a claim. My most recent claim was approved within 24 hours of submission and in my account within a couple days. With any other company, my policy would have been canceled by hitting the maximum policy payout, but it’s not something I have to worry about with Trupanion. I couldn’t care less if they end up increasing my premiums because over the past year, it’s only through Trupanion’s coverage that I still have my dog at all. I will ALWAYS recommend Trupanion for anyone looking for pet insurance.

I inherited three dogs in December 2020 and February 2021: German Shepherds 7, 6 and 1 year old. I placed in insurance in the first 2 but I placed the wrong name in the 6 years old. I called Pumpkin to ask to change the name of the dog as she needed more the insurance than the one year old. However, they asked me to cancel the insurance in the 1 year old and place a new one in the 6 years old. She got an infection on her gums later and I took her to the vet and they did extractions in May. Now they will not honor the claim because they said that it was a pre -existing condition. I do not understand why the insurance did not allow me to rectify the name of the dog, and I realize this in a couple of weeks.

So glad we chose Healthy Paws
When we knew we were going to get our puppy, we looked into purchasing a health insurance plan. We had lost our German Shepherd to cancer several years prior, and while her form of cancer was incurable, I never wanted to be in a position where our ability to pay for treatment would determine what course of action would be taken. I did the deep dive into all the different companies, and Healthy Paws was consistently at the top. What was the determining factor was the extremely high customer service ratings. Fast forward two and a half years and our Pomeranian was diagnosed with calcium oxalate stones that required emergency surgery. The claim submission process can be done on your phone, and there were zero issues getting reimbursed in a timely manner. To top it off, I received an email from Healthy Paws inquiring how Koji was doing after his surgery and requesting we give him a hug on their behalf. This is a company who understands that my dogs are family members. They have earned their sterling reputation for top notch customer service, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone wanting pet health insurance for peace of mind.

Terrible Customer Service
Terrible Customer Service. Tried reaching someone with questions on an emergency claim and could not get a person on the phone. No message machine or call back feature. Faxed a letter to them and still no response. Guess no intention on paying the part of the bill I submitted and was questioning. Think I am cancelling. Not worth the money!

Healthy Paws insurance has been a saving grace for us! Our dog Tater has has a couple of significant health issues over the past few years and Healthy Paws processed and paid our claims within a couple of days. We absolutely recommend them!
