Healthy Paws is fantastic!!

I am so grateful for Healthy Paws!! My dog tore her ACL and needed to have a very expensive surgery. Thankfully we had Healthy Paws pet insurance and a large portion of the procedure was covered. As a person who will do whatever it takes for my fur babies, it is such a relief to have this assistance. Additionally, Healthy Paws is excellent to work. Their customer service is top notch. All of the representatives I've talked with over the phone have been very helpful and kind. After my dog had her knee surgery, a rep emailed me to see how she was feeling- how thoughtful! Also, Healthy Paws could not be easier to use. Claims are extremely easy with their app- just upload a picture of the invoice and you're done. A few days later, you get an email letting you know your claim is being processed. A few days after that, you're check is in the mail. I would highly recommend Healthy Paws to anyone!

Great Company that helps me to take care of Billy

I'm filling 100% protected, it is incredibly simple to submit a claim, the couple of times that I called the staff was very friendly. I'm very happy I was suggested to call ASPCA.Thanks a LOT!!!

So Grateful we had insurance!

Six weeks after adopting our terrier puppy, she swallowed a turkey bone. It was Thanksgiving so we had to take her to the emergency pet center. They X-rayed her and it turned out she had swallowed the bone whole, and it was taking up her entire stomach! She spent the night on IVs, but had to have an endoscopy the next morning to get the bone out. I was so glad we had insurance! Out of the total $1,780 bill for Skye's care, we wound up paying only $488 (our $100 deductible, the doctor visits, and the 10% copay). Throughout the process, the medical center kept saying, "We would like to do x, but that will cost $y. Is that feasible for you?" And I kept saying, yes, I have insurance. Uploading the invoices was super easy. It took a bit of a back and forth getting my medical records sent to Healthy Paws but the whole team was extremely friendly, patient, and proactive helping me resolve an issue that was caused by confusing billing by the pet hospital. I received my reimbursement checks well before my credit card statement came, so now I will have the funds to make the payment without any problem. I am so so grateful we went ahead and got insurance and did not have to make decisions between love for our pet and the limitations of our bank account! I would definitely recommend this insurance to anyone. It actually surprises me how many people go without insurance given all the crazy things that can happen with a pet.

Beware taxes not covered

Trupanion reviewed our claim quickly, but they denied taxes. Taxes are a cost to us. We pay taxes on our premiums, and people health insurance includes coverage on taxes. When we signed up in 2010, taxes were not excluded. Somewhere in between 2010 & 2016, taxes were excluded. That reduces our payout from 90% to 76%. After a $1000 deductible. Suddenly the plan is much less worth it. And I just checked all my emails about policy changes. They included this benefit and that increased coverage, but NOWHERE did the emails say "oh and we now deny taxes". The first I see taxes excluded is a policy in 2014. But I didn't get copies of the policy between 2010 and 2014 so maybe it was earlier. Not impressed with this.

"Pre-existing condition" is their favorite excuse.

In trying to get our 8 month old lab the surgery he needed for a CCL tear, EMBRACE refused to cover any operations. Even though we provided the puppy's medical history and a note from our vet saying this was the result of on accident that occurred during our coverage period. Apparently having several physicals where there are "no issues" with his knees/legs is not enough. In dealing with so called "Embracers", they also wouldn't accept anything from our old vet from before our coverage period. They seemed to go out of their way to call everything and anything a pre-existing condition. Do not waste your money. Unless you have a cat, then they will probably kill it.

Our family is so thankful for Healthy Paws.

As first time pet parents, we almost didn't get pet insurance, but after some research we decided to go with Healthy Paws "in case anything ever happened." It was one of the best decisions we ever made. Salem, a mischievous and lovable 4 year old cat, has put us through multiple foreign body removals and has now gone through surgery to remove 3 mast cell tumors from his right side. We would do anything for this cat, but without Healthy Paws we wouldn't be able to afford his care. The Claims always go through quickly and are very simple to upload, and, most importantly, there is no lifetime max like with other companies! Team members at Healthy Paws even reach out to see how Salem is doing. I cannot express how grateful I am to Healthy Paws for providing coverage for Salem and keeping the fuzzy member of our happy family healthy.

Best financial investment I have made as pet owner

I had made only one Healthy Paws insurance payment when my Westie was diagnosed with White Dog Shaker Syndrom. She had to have an MRI, spinal tap, meds and the bill was close to $3K. Healthy Paws reimbursed me for all but my deductible. I was so grateful to have this insurance. They contacted me several times during the process just to inquire how my Daisy was doing.....
