I enrolled my newly adopted cat with Healthy Paws after a vet tech friend recommended it, and I’m so glad I did. He started to have some health issues which meant quite a few vet visits. Eventually we had to go to a specialist and get biopsies done. Through all of this, Healthy Paws made it simple and easy to file claims and the reimbursement was very fast. They even checked in to see how my little guy was doing after he was diagnosed. Having this insurance has made navigating my cat’s health issues much less stressful.
Don't Bother put your money in a savings account they do anything to get out of paying a claim
45 Days out for claims, according to them everything is preexisting condition. Not even meds are covered. Take a pass I should never have switched from Healthy Paws they are much better than this company. Put your money in a savings account.
Always go through your explanation of benefit, half the time I have to resubmit and it's getting annoying.
It always feels like I have to constantly remind them of the illnesses and they never review the file to check!!!
The benefits do not cover for every time you have to take your pet to the doctor it only covers the initial, that’s a waste of money to only be able to use it twice a year and not when needed. Do better the insurance, this cost too much and gives limitations that’s unrealistic for pet owners. Claims take over 30 days to process.
Beware of the positive reviews, the second claim gets you.
I had initially rated Lemonade as the best insurance ever, this is because my first claim only took hours and that is when lemonade asked me to rate their insurance.
However its a scam, on the second claim, it has been weeks of processing and red tape and a simple claim is not being resolved. I am being asked for more and more documents and proofs for fee i am not even asking for reimbursement.
My claim is still not resolved but I did want to warn people who are looking for pet insurance, dont be swayed by the super positive reviews. Its only the 1st claim that gets resolved fast, subsequent claims seem to take forever.
We purchased a Bernese knowing full well that they are prone to certain health problems. So far, Derby has proven that true in spades! He is just turning 3, has marked dysplasia in both hips, an allergy which results in excessive itching without continuous daily medication and a genetic abnormality which has resulted in extensive abnormal dental development and a smaller than usual skull size. Two of these will require expensive surgical procedures in the future. Trupanion has provided coverage as indicated on their website and brochure. The claim process is simple and easy.
When I first adopted Nova and was shopping different pet insurance companies I was really pleased with what I learned about Healthy Paws. 3 years and 1 new puppy later I am still using Healthy Paws and loving it. Filing claims is a breeze and their team is incredibly responsive. Nova had her first serious injury this year and after I filed the claim. The Healthy Paws team reached out to check on her. I was so touched and will continue to use Healthy Paws for Nova, Dipper, and any future dogs that join the family.
Every time - not just once in a while - every time I put in a claim, I get an email back saying Pet's Best is experiencing a higher volume than usual and you are sorry the claim while be delayed. If it is EVERY time, that's not an unexpected high volume issue, that's the norm. Just be honest.
