they are getting worse

I have had VPI for quite some time for my working GSD. When it was just VPI, they were awesome and turnaround time was 5-7 days. Now, I'm lucky to get anything withing a month's time. They are getting worse on what they will and will not pay for or for the amounts they WILL pay for some things. I pay for preventative medicine as well, and they are now denying some of that. Considering they hiked the prices, they need to pay more. I can't take her anywhere else because she has recently been diagnosed with EPI, however, all her test results have returned to normal and she has gained her weight back and is working again and happy. I am just disappointed in the entire insurance racket for the fur babies. They are cheaper than most.

Feedback

Horrible experience. 15%premium increase each year. Each Time I need to spend extra time to disagree with their claim decisions. I'm not sure how they concluded pre-existing conditions. It's not clear. I will never use the company in the future. This was my bad mistake.

The Worst

I have a wellness plan that covers routine tests and preventative care, heart worm and flea control monthly. Each time the dog has his check ups and I email them my claim form completed by the vet I wait on average 3 months for reimbursement. Then only after I call them over and over do they process the claim.Worst customer Service Ever! I agree with the others once Purina care sold the insurance to 24 Pet Watch things went down hill terribly. I wouldn't recommend them to my enemies. When you call always on hold minimum of 15 minutes. They tell you it's your error or they are behind and training new agents.... It is as if they read off of a script. DONT do Business with them!!!! I was just notified that my premium will be increasing 100% to $1500!

Happy!

Josie is being treated for what appeared to us to be seizures. She has not had any further episodes since receiving her VOM treatments. I am happy to say that I've reached my deductible!

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance is the best!!

My dog recently had spinal surgery which required expensive diagnostics and then the surgery itself, including several days in the hospital. After he was released, he needed extensive rehabilitation, including hydrotherapy and acupuncture. Healthy paws has covered everything, and they have reimbursed me right away, with no hesitation. And to top this off, they emailed me to see how he was getting along, and to wish us well, and send hugs to him. They are genuinely concerned with his health! I could not be more pleased with Healthy Paws, and I love the peace of mind I have since I have coverage by them.

Denying Claims is what they do BEST!

Almost every claim takes about 30-60 days to get paid especially if you have to appeal their decision and have your vet write a personal note. In my situation, they like to always claim a "pre-existing" condition. For example, my dog got a staph infection that was eating away at his skin 11 months after we got the policy. They denied it within a week and said "pre-existing" condition. If that were the case, then my dog would have died by know. No medical records requested at all! Processor likes to deny claims within 7 days or request medical records and deny claims in 14-21 days. Their customer service agents and their call center manager agreed that it should not have been denied and at the very least, medical records should have been requested. Still waiting on decision as we approach 30 days on something that should have been paid weeks ago. On the plus, their online system to submit claims is easy and allows you to even write a comment, so I gave a 3 instead of a 1. Even though I think the claim processors don't read them. Otherwise, they would have requested medical records on the bacteria that was eating away at my dog's skin.

Outstanding service and response

We will never be without Healthy Paws pet insurance for our dogs. Such a comfort to know we can give our pets the best care. Have had 3 claims and, as promised, they are quick to respond and take care of the claims.

It is comforting to know I have EMBRACE for my dog

My 3 year old Javanese developed HGE when he was 1 year old. HE required a 6 day hospital stay that cost over $4000. I felt so lucky that I did not have to make decisions for him based on finances. Without the intensive care I am not sure he would have survived but he now is a happy healthy dog. We also have a 2 year old Javanese that has EMBRACE coverage. She has not needed anything except routine care but I know she will be taken care of if the need arises. EMBRACE has direct deposit and have never waited more than 10 days to be reimbursed, even with a large bill of $4000.

Safety Net

I look at this insurance for my two rescued pittbulls, as a safety net, so far so good, I have an awesome vet, been with the vet 14 years- still going strong, they like this insurance, the fact that they get called about visits, they have reviewed my policy, it is in both of my dogs charts, I do recommend this insurance, I wish the wellness amount was more- you have to factor in yearly physical, flea/worm meds, dental chews, chewies-for two babies:

Great service

I have had this insurance for my 2 dogs for 3 years. One of my dogs has Leishmania and Pets Best has always helped me with the expenses of the Vet bills. I have never had any problem with any claim. I am completely satisfied.Now I have moved to Canada and I have had to cancel my policy because, sadly, there is not Pets Best here. Amanda (in the Live Chat) has been very helpful and professional. She helped me out with all my questions, even remembering me and previous conversations we had. She is as good as Pets Best insurance. I highly recommend this pet insurance to anyone who has pets.
