Embrace is worth it!

Our Great Dane, Dash, had a skin mass on his abdomen which was removed during his neuter and gastopexy. After my experiencing difficulty with our previous pet insurance company (VPI), I fully expected Embrace to only cover a very small amount of the skin mass removal, because it was in conjunction with another procedure. However, Embrace covered the full cost of the skin mass removal, and I was pleasantly surprised!

Horrible service. Premiums icreased 100% yearly

Had 24 PetWatch for 4 years. Claim process is difficult and drawn out (months). Premiums increased 100% the last 2 years. Went from $500/yr, then $1000/ yr, now they want $1500/ yr for same coverage. Never had any claims except for wellness issues. Won't ever use them again.

I feel assured that my pet is covered every time we visit the vet for an appointment. When I have questions I get a response fast and I can even email a questions and it is still responded to in a timely manner.

Excellent & Reliable Coverage for Cancer

We have had our English bulldogs covered by Embrace for several years now. Unfortunately, two months ago, our 10-year-old bulldog (Bauer) collapsed and was rushed to the emergency vet, where he was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer. Since then, he has been undergoing weekly chemotherapy treatment under the care of a pet oncologist. I have submitted 7 claims over the past 8 weeks, all related to Bauer's cancer diagnosis and treatment. Embrace has approved all of the claims without issue, paying out over $3200 during that timeframe. Just as importantly, I have been receiving my reimbursement deposits in a timely manner, about one week after each claim is submitted. We purchased policies with Embrace to help us in the event that one of our dogs suffered a serious injury or illness requiring expensive treatment. Embrace has been fulfilling their end of the bargain with this cancer diagnosis, and has made a difficult situation easier for us. I highly recommend them, and plan to be a customer for life.

Overall ExperienceSo you just deny my claim? What

Stay Away! I'm in the military and move around a lot. For some reason they didn't have my pets full medical history and I've been paying them for two years and made no claims. Now that I need the insurance, they denied everything. They requested the medical history from my previous vet on 3 Aug. On 5 Aug, they denied my claims because the vet hadn't sent the requested info, yet. Really...two days. No followup call or anything. Just deny all my claims.

Good insurance, but be wary of automatic renewals

I've had very few problems with Pet First. They usually pay claims within a month (slightly longer if they need more information; I have my vet fax not just the bill but her notes to speed things up). My only complaint is how they renew yearly policies. They don't renew them on the day they are due; they renew them "about" two weeks earlier. They have a strange definition of "two weeks;" my most recent renewal came 18 days early, which is obviously closer to three weeks than two. I'd allocated money in my next pay check to pay for the premium; coming at the end of the current paycheck, it unexpectedly emptied out my bank account and stuck me with overage fees. If this happened just once, I'd shrug, pay the overdraft fees and forget it, but it keeps happening. They have no concept of "two weeks" equaling "fourteen days." Every time, it's some random number well over fourteen. I'm going to switch my payment choice to a credit card instead of a debit card, but this shouldn't be an issue. I will still use them, and I can recommend them with this caveat, but this is a weird accounting system.
