Best Pet Insurance

We have a dog breed that is active and high drive; also accident prone. we did not have insurance with our previous dog of the same breed and he developed an injury that led to major surgery. Besides the pain of losing him prematurely, we ended up spending a fortune in emergency surgical and aftercare costs. It was like a punch in the gut! We felt irresponsible for not considering insurance for our pet and in fact spent more in healthcare costs for "Iggy" then our own combined costs for ourselves. Also, the reps are really helpful and willing to work with us on billing issues.

Embrace your pet(s) right now!

I have never used pet insurance before and I've owned many many animals. I am so grateful my vet whom is also my friend strongly suggested I get insurance for my two golden retriever puppies. My one puppy has been suffering from panosteitis and when we outgrew that he was diagnosed with elbow dysplasia in both elbows! He's recovering from his final surgery. I could not be happier with this insurance and what's even more impressive is how kind and compassionate the staff is. I can't say enough about how amazing they are. I recommend them to everyone I know.

average to below average for the cost

In the few months that I have been a customer (with 2 pets) they have eliminated their customer service chat functionality and have failed to meet their service level agreements (to decide on the claim within 10 business days) on multiple occasions. Also, I'm disappointed in the claim submission process and overall website. It bothers me that the main site look and feel is far superior to the customer's look and feel. Also, in the 7 claims that I have submitted, the site failed to accept the claim and I had to send it via email. Additionally, my cat had two recent and separate vet visits - one was to treat her for a UTI (previous treatment was provided for this pre-PetFirst) and the next was to treat her for a bladder stone (she has never received a diagnosis or treatment for this issue) and PetFirst bundled both into a blanket condition which she has never been diagnosed with. And, I trust that these two issues are related and maybe she has this disease that PetFirst indicated, but I wasn't satisfied with the claim denial explanation - I would expect evidence to support the conditions are related.

Happy dog again

My Siberian Husky had a torn ACL and required very expensive surgery to fix it. My daughter and I scraped money together to pay the cost of the surgery up front even as we sought pre-certification for the surgery. Embrace reimbursed us for most the cost of the surgery within two weeks of Cassady's surgery. They also reimbursed fully the cost of extra x-rays and medicine required. Prior to that, the same Husky had a serious infection in one of her toes, and again, Embrace reimbursed us for the cost of her care. I am really glad to have learned of this company and I appreciate it more than words can say.

New customer - very pleased!

After comparing 7 pet insurance plans, I selected Embrace due to the numerous options allowed in devising my plan coverage and associated cost. Within days of signing up, I took my 2 cats for a semi-annual wellness checkup and submitted the claims. The claims for both cats were handled quickly and the full amounts were covered. So far, I am very pleased. P.S. Embrace has a fabulous website as well!

beware

I am only 3 weeks into my Petsbest coverage for my 2 pets and so far, at every single turn, there seems to be either problems of incompetence with in the claims department or deliberate tactics to misinterpret vet notes.... i.e., on my clinic's legal medical records ( on clinic letterhead), my vet wrote of specific procedures. The vet basically wrote what procedures were performed for which body parts ( dated, and again, on clinic letter head), the claims department requested more medical records because the procedure " performed" could have been at other vets. Really? Even if it was on my vet clinic's letterhead? They keep asking for medical records when they already have ALL OF them FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS. I have asked them to e-mail me all the medical records they have on file so I can e-,mail what they sent me back to them when they ask for records again. I understand that people with negative reviews tend to write reviews more often than people with positive reviews. I also understand that not every single employee is perfectly trained and competant but.. let me provide this piece of information which I think illustrates how sophomoric their system is. As a rule, there is only one policy # for a policy holder ( i.e. pet guardian). I have 2 pets. They both have the same policy #. All e-mails I have received only show that one policy # without the pet's name. When I am asked to call the company for more medical records, I am asked by the representatives which pet I am calling about, my response is " I don't know, you'll have to tell me as your e-mail does not specify." It's 2017. There is no excuse for this kind of systemic confusion... unless they want to purposely confuse the policy holder and run him ragged. Let's put it this way: Should your whole family have the same social security #? the same drivers license # even if there is more than one driver? etc... Im addition, no e-mails are ever signed so one never knows if the person writing back is the same person one spoke with on the phone/communicated via e-mail or someone else who just saw that an e-mail need to be answered and did as such, perhaps not knowing about the entire situation.
