The Silver lining

We panicked when our five month old mini poodle had a seizure. It quickly became wors when little Logan had a second seizure at our Vets office. We were referred to a specialized veterinary hospital, where the charges were soon over two thousand dollars and possibly much more, depending on test results. We paid but now had additional stress because of the financial payments we would be making. We remembered that our Vet had discussed Trupanion insurance with us when we brought Logan in for his initial check up. Thankfully we enrolled Logan. When we called Trupanion about coverage, we were put at ease by Brendan at Trupanion, who preauthorized our claim over the phone so we could concentrate on getting our Logan well. To have the unlimited 90% coverage was a blessing. Our Logan is on his way to recovery and we have peace of mind relative to the financial cost of his care. Getting Trupanion was the best insurance decision we ever made.

BAD!!

First of all it takes forever for this company to get claims filed and paid. I have already had to report them to the Insurance commissioner office to get my last claims paid. Secondly my monthly payment went from 56.67 to 113.00 a month with no notice. When I called they were so surprised I didn't receive anything but the first review on this page was the same problem. I would not recommend this insurance company to any one.

Rest assured

I couldn't be happier with Health Paws. Their coverage is fair... truly taking risk out of pet ownership. They are clear about their coverage and adjudicate claims based on that coverage in a fast, straight-forward manner. I have had the great fortune of having an amazing dog. I have also had the great mis-fortune in my dog having chronic allergies and most recently being hit by a car. Healthy Paws has been there for me all the way. I'm sure I'm a money loser for them, but I've never felt that way. I am promoting them as 5 stars all the way with the hope that this attracts some new sales for some healthy and accident-free pets to offset me and others who have needed to make exceptional claims. You'll be happy knowing that you and your pet are protected, and Healthy Paws will make some money so that they can continue to provide protection to you and me if we ever need it.

Great service!

Submitted my first wellness claim for my border collie. The staff was so nice and answered questions that I had regarding the claim. Thankfully, this was just a wellness claim but I have no doubt they will be just as helpful if I have an accident or illness claim in the future.

Great insurance

This is the first time having pet insurance and so far embrace has been extremely helpful. I have had my dog for almost one year and have already filed two claims. The first incident was when the puppy was 4 months old and possibly ingested something causing her to seize and go temporarily blind resulting in a $700 emergency hospital visit. Filing through embrace was very easy, I filed out a form online and they contacted my vet. I was fully reimbursed according to my policy payback. Definitely plan to continue and would highly recommend.

High stress situation made easily more manageable

I've been a Healthy Paws customer for a while now, but over the holidays submitted my first claim -- In general, their customer support has always been great, but in the time of crisis with one of my animals, Healthy Paws made the process easier than the vet's office did. I was able to submit my claim via the mobile app without any trouble, and all my home vet had to do was send a quick email. After the claim was submitted, the process was so incredibly easy - customer service was on top of everything, notified me when documents were received, and when they were beginning to process the claim. The turn around on everything was just as smooth, and they got me a itemized sheet of my coverages and a reimbursement check promptly. I'm so glad I have Healthy Paws as my pet insurance; it's helped a lot in an otherwise unpleasant situation.

Refused to Pay

This is one of the most difficult insurance companies I have ever dealt with. Have been insured for some time and when finally came to pay at claim, they wanted an inordinate about of past medical information, not even related to the current illness. My vet said they would pay well, but she was wrong. Now, after over $1200 in vet bills, I get nothing because my vet would only release info to us and was not convenient for me as a busy physician. Otherwise, it was okay
