I would suggest anyone owning a new puppy get this. I would also suggest getting the 0 deductible since I first chose the 300 deductible I have since changed to the 0 deductible knowing she can receive the very best care for the rest of her life and knowing I can afford it.

We had 2 dogs insured. When the first Doberman was diagnosed with a heart condition, Trupanion stood by their word to cover the illness until he passed. When our other Doberman ate a dog toy and cost us over $5000 (which was a negotiated rate from $8100 directly with the vet) to have it removed, then have complications to then have to go back in to save her life, we were seriously strapped for money to pay the first bill. We got her covered after that expensive hospital stay in case it happened again, which it did 3 years later. This time there were too many complications due to the first obstruction surgery 3 years prior. She didn't make it out of the hospital. The comfort of knowing the Trupanion stood by their word and cover what they say they will, made it easier to make decisions based on the health needs of our dog, not on how much it was going to cost. In the future when we get another dog we will insure him or her the first day we get her. We wish human insurance was run the way Trupanion runs the show.

I rescued Emmie in October of 2013 (approximately 8 months old) and she has been embraced since her foster fail adoption in Jan 2014. Throughout the years Emmie has been living the life, she went to doggy camp, she slept in the sunshine as it came through the windows of the house, she had pillows and blankets that made it even more comfy, she had playdates and sleep overs and was able to run off leash during hikes in the area and be free. In July 2017 she was seen for the first time “abdominal problems” had testing done and began to get better better... no issues. In September she started with other symptoms and this time she required surgery which she recovered from... testing was negative for cancer so we continued with her treatments and care. In October she continued to be seen in the Vet and the speciality hospital as she just wasn’t getting better. Testing continued to not show anything definitive. In November 2017 she was seen again and this time she had a repeat biopsy which had grown and additional areas were now suspicious..... this happened in less than three weeks. This time it was cancer.... and the morning of this visit she let me know with her eyes that she was tired and it was time. I let my Emmie go peacefully that day. It was painful then and is still painful now.... but I know the right decision was made. Embrace Insurance took away that financial strain that would added to these last few months. They paid over $7,100 and allowed me the opportunity to make decisions for Emmie. This was the first year I needed to claim anything but it was there when I needed it. Thank you!

Unfortunately, it was a positive experience around a sad day. Our dog Speed had to be put down due to progressive skin cancer. We processed his final bills and received prompt response. However, I waited to cancel his insurance to ensure his bills were paid. Pet's Best upon receiving his final bills not only cancelled his insurance with appropriate refund, they also sent us prompt notes of condolence for our son Speed. It was much appreciate how they took care of us in our moment of sadness.

My little, rescued poodle's health was a complete unknown. She was 6 years old when she adopted me and named herself "Angel". She had been a trained, service dog for a person in a wheelchair. Because she was abandoned, after the death of her owner, rather than returned to her training agency, she was on her own in an unknown world for a year, before she was left on the steps of Animal Services. They traced her history through her chip implant. She was a sad, terrified little dog with a strong determination and will to survive. Trupanion's excellent policy, professional and immediate service, and compassionate mission has made it possible for Angel to leave behind most of her baggage as she becomes a healthier and happy companion. First time using a pet insurance and I’m impressed. I filed a claim and they replied really fast. I’m really satisfied. Hope they keep up it up!!
