Wonderful service, easy and affordable
Both associates I spoke with on the phone were absolutely amazing, very friendly and informative. I had a wonderful experience setting up insurance for my kitties and I’m so glad I did. I was worried at first that it wouldn’t be affordable or that it would be difficult to set up but thankfully that wasn’t the case!

Ok, time for a well deserved, 5-Star review!
Ok, time a well deserved, 5-STAR review for Trupanion! We have a male GSD 9-months old, and a female GSD almost 3 years old. We’ve always had Trupanion insurance on them since the day we got both of them. In December 2021, I noticed the male had a limp on his left leg. We took him to his vet, who recommended that we get a CT Scan with an Veterinary orthopedic specialist. Trupanion Pre-approved the CT scan right away, we paid our deductible, and everything went perfect! After the surgery consult, the specialist determined his surgery estimate would be a little over $6000.00… I sent in my surgery estimate from the specialist, and the Trupanion Pre-authorization form today (03/13/2022), and in literally 25 minutes, they pre-approved his surgery for 03/25/2022! Since his deductible was met during the CT scan, Trupanion said they would pay $4401.91, and our out of pocket would be $1642.01! I just want to say, I am SOOOOO HAPPY that we decided to insure our pets with Trupanion, and I encourage everyone to do so as well! Thank you Trupanion, you guys are absolutely the best, and you truly stand by your policies! Ken Leopold

Claims take forever, often a discussion to have paid out.
We purchased policies for two of our dogs. it was early in the pet insurance era so we didnt really know. but now that there are manymore options i will never give them another policy. sucks that we are stuck now with them without getting dinged for 'preexisting conditions' by going with another provider. oh also food for thought, dont ever get ANY 'free' trial insurance pet with your pet. Buy your own policy. If your pet develops a conditoin during that time it will be considered a preexisting condition and you will either be denied a policy or excluded for any treatment for that condition. Reason being is the trial membership does not roll over into your policy if you decided to go with the same provider (trial memberships expire and you therefore start a NEW policy with now preexisting conditions, it was a nightmare). If you want pet insurance, get your own policy straight away.
