While I understand deductibles need to be met it seems that with every claim I have ever submitted for any of my pets has been denied. I am beginning to consider cancelling this insurance as we keep paying monthly premiums and never getting a claim reimbursed.

Response time is exceptional and coverage is very comprehensive. When our pets get sick the coverage is not deleted or reduced. My Kramer has had health issues for most of his life. He is 13 now and was diagnosed with lymphoma at age 11. Before that it was irritable bowel disease. If I had not had pet insurance, I could not have afforded the specialized health care and medications necessary to treat his illnesses. My Kramer is thriving under his medical care, regardless of his underlying conditions.

They paid my claim within 10 days, just as advertised, even though it took longer than that to get all my supporting documents to them. They also kept me informed about the progress of my claim. At the time I signed up, four years ago, they also had the best rates for my dog's age. I haven't comparison shopped since then but I've been happy with the service and not tempted to change. When I emailed a question about a rate change, their customer service was prompt to reply with an explanation. Compared to my previous pet insurance company, which took over two months to pay a claim (I suspect they were waiting to get more premium payments from me), Healthy Paws has been stellar.

I have had trupanion for my previous dog who died of cancer.
I have had trupanion for my previous dog who died of cancer. During her treatment, we spent a tremendous amount of money. Trupanion reimbursed us for those expenses (minus the deduction) very quickly and efficiently. I wish human medical insurances were that easy. :-)

Everyone I have spoken with is super helpful in listening and helping you understand your policy and presenting you with the best options that fit your budget. Most insurance companies I feel want to try and get the most money they can out of you, but I have never felt this way. They have worked with me to find what would be the best fit. And they don’t discriminate against breed. I have a Great Dane and they helped me find a plan even though he was middle age at the time.
