First I say when I initial insured my dog with them everything seemed fine. Responsive customer service and the like. Then after the first year with no claims raised my rates $5 per year 45-50. My dog was 1 year old. Since that time they have raised it every year. He just turned 5 and they have now raised it to $87 for 2021. I have filed one claim in the 5 years I have had him. This is a complete RIPOFF. So just to see what would happen I went back to their website and entered a factious pet with the same information as my dog, current weight and age with the same benefits. The quote I received ..... $47 ?????? So they get you on the hook and then increase your premiums every year. What a scam. I'm not real sure how they end up with such high rating every year. They probably have people or employee pad their reviews. Unless you like getting ripped off I would recommend not using them.

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance -- Win Win Win
We have had Healthy Paws pet insurance for both our dogs since they were puppies 7 years ago. In that time, I have submitted over 150 claims, and every one has been settled quickly and fairly. It is so easy to submit claims online and have the payment deposited automatically into my bank account. I also like the options for choosing the deductable and reimbursement percentage. Overall Healthy Paws is the best pet insurance we have had.

Pets Best doesn't clearly communicate the claim calculation process fully in its marketing material, so customers are mislead.
Would not refer anyone to Pets Best...ever! I have told you this before. You don't care. Your plan allocates claim dollars to coinsurance/copayment before the deductible is filled. Therefore it takes longer and costs more money to fulfill my deductible. Purely your interests not your customers. I wojuud havenever purchased your plan if your process had been fully and completely detailed in your marketing materials. But, of course, you like your vaguely worded benefit description. It works in your favor not your customers.

I am extremely happy with Trupanion. We currently have two pets insured and they have covered the illnesses that have come up as our pets age. I will probably always keep their insurance on any future pets we have.

Great Value, Vets suck
Smooth process, but it takes too long for reimbursement. Should be 48 hours or less if direct deposit is enabled and 24 hours or less if it has been paid before. I can barely afford the treatment, so reimbursement speed is critical to my family. 72 hours is unacceptable for broke people like me. The vet advertises they accept trupanion insurance, but only if you pay out of pocket first and handle everything yourself. That's also unacceptable, but we are stuck with them for now and that's a separate issue.

So Glad I Didn't Cancel My Policy!
I purchased a Trupanion policy when my dog was 1 year old. I haven't used it much, although, the times I used it the process was painless and I was reimbursed within 2 weeks - longest I've had to wait. I almost cancelled it last year and decided to hold onto it hoping my lab would live to 13 and well beyond and then he wouldn't be eligible for coverage. He was diagnosed a few weeks ago with diabetes at 11 and has a peripheral neuropathy happening too-but he's doing better on insulin. Having the policy has allowed me to not have to make any hard decisions about being able to afford this level of care for my 4 legged family member-because I can afford it, and he's worth it.

We have been paying into this for three years and most times we make a claim it is declined. While I understand some of the rationale, when we had to undertake exploratory activities to ascertain the nature of a problem, we were told that the expense did not qualify. These expenses are considerable at times and makes me wonder why I’m paying what I do monthly. This premium also just went up and I have had very little benefit.

Healthy Paws has been everything you dream of in a pet insurance company. My beloved dog was diagnosed with lymphoma, then had some other difficulties and required hospitalization and oxygen in the ICU for several days. The cost of her treatment has been astronomical. Submitting the claims through the Healthy Paws app on my phone literally couldn't be easier - you just snap a picture of the invoice. Impressively quickly after submitting each claim, I have received an email confirming that the treatment is covered, and the check arrives shortly after that. Being able to take care of my dog without worrying at all about the costs has been such a relief - purchasing this insurance was the smartest thing I've ever done. Coincidentally, my mom's dog was hospitalized around the same time and although she also has pet insurance (through a different company), much of the cost of her treatment has been inexplicably denied. I recommend Healthy Paws unreservedly - they are amazing.
