So glad I have this pet insurance
I am so happy I chose healthy paws pet insurance a few years ago. I am a vet tech so I know how expensive emergencies can get so that’s why I did my research and found healthy paws. Having this insurance I can feel secure about getting the best care for both of my dogs. Although I always hope not to have to use it, recently my dog had some eye issues and had to have an expensive eye procedure done, I didn’t even hesitate to get it done ASAP because I knew my insurance would look into my claim quickly and reimburse me for the covered items at the 80% rate I signed up with. I can’t imagine not having it because there’s no way I could afford that necessary expensive eye procedure my dog needed. There have been several times I’ve needed my insurance over the past few years for both my dogs and I am so happy I chose this insurance. Their plans are reasonably priced, they respond quickly to your claims and they have excellent customer service, even checking in on my dog to see how he was doing after his procedure. This is the best insurance and I wouldn’t choose anyone else over them.

Go with Healthy Paws, can't go wrong!
I've recently had to take advantage of my Healthy Paws policy for my English Bulldog who tore his ACL and had to get TPLO surgery. Healthy Paws' claims services was so stress-free - all I had to do with submit the vet invoice on their site, then got the coverage amount in my bank within 10 days. They were clear on what's covered (surgery, medication, rehabilitation) and what wasn't (ie. normal vet check up's, herbal/supplements), but it's all fair. And a rep from Healthy Paws checked in a week after Uni's surgery to ask how he was doing. Healthy Paws' monthly payments could be a little high (esp for a Eng Bulldog in a pricey urban city), but end of the day, if you ever need to actually have insurance kick in, you'll want an insurance company that's known to be a good partner. Would recommend!

One of the best decisions we made for our boys was Healhy Paws
We lost our Sarabelle to osteosarcoma in 2012, and the treatment costs were onerous. So, when we brought the littermate brothers Sammie and Elias, and our heeler hybrid Sitka Rose into our lives, we decided to purchase pet life insurance. We researched and decide on Healthy Pet. Part of the reason is that we can predict and plan in the costs of maintenance - the vaccines, physicals, etc. However, we can not whether our family members will have accidents, or catestrophic illnesses or health conditions and those costs are the ones that are financial killers. So we decided on Healthy Paws. It was a decision that we do not regret as our two boys, healthy most of their lives, have had structural and health conditions this past year. With the two of them together the costs have been a burden that Healthy Paws has relieved us of by their compassionate and prompt processing of the boys' vet claims. We feel fortunate to have Healthy Paws there for us.

Unethical Business Practices
People should be aware of the way Embrace does business. Here is some context: My dog is 6ish- I got insurance for her about 4 years ago. She has no preexisting conditions, is not on any medication, and I have never filed a claim with Embrace. The premium for the first year of coverage was low (for my dog, it was $33 for the year). The second year it went up 30% to $43/month. The third year (2020) , it went up 95%. Yep, you read that right. My new premium was $85 a month- my reimbursement rate was 80% and my deductible was $750 with a max payout of $10k. The company sent out a letter claiming that they apologized for such a large increase in premiums, that they had their book of business reviewed by actuaries and needed to make adjustments. (I would be willing to bet that a lot of other people have received this letter... but at different times, not just 2020- some 2 year customers problably got theirs this year) I increased my deductible and lowered my reimbursement rate so I could afford the premium which I got down to $63 a month. This year, they have increased my premium again 24%, up to $78.30. I cannot make my deductible any higher, but I did lower my reimbursement rate, once again to get it back down to $62.00 a month. If I got to the Embrace website and request a quote as a new customer, I get a quote of $33 a month. The same rate I had as a first year customer... strange. The company blames everything but themselves when you complain about the premiums: the state you live in, how the Department Insurance doesn't set caps, etc. They know what they're doing is shady. I really hope people will stay away from Embrace. If this review deters just ONE person from buying a policy with them, I consider taking the time to write this, a win.
