Helpful for the big expenses
I would have to crunch the numbers to see if there is an actual cost benefit to having this service. It is very helpful for us, as we have used it multiple times for our dog. However, due to the monthly payments and high deductible (in order to afford the monthly payments), I can't truly say if there is a benefit overall or if I spend as much as I end up having covered. Since my dog currently has an injury that is not healing "as expected" and it is taking much longer than "expected" and may result in specialized care...it could be very cost effective. That said, since exams and visits aren't covered (and specialists cost hundreds just to walk in the door), my cost will remain very high. So, I am happy with my service and I don't plan on cancelling, but friends that ask about insurance ask about all the things that I already listed. So, my answer is a "7".

A Lifesaver!
I couldn't be happier to have Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. My sweet little rescue pup has multiple allergies resulting in hair loss. Being able to get him the proper care to address his issues and give him the best possible quality of life without having to worry about the expense is incredibly helpful. Healthy Paws has been so quick to process claims, literally payment shows up in my account within a day or two. I'm very impressed with their service & follow-through.

I used to rave about pet insurance.
I used to rave about pet insurance. Your insurance company has my dog having a preexisting condition from when he was NINE WEEKS OLD AND I JUST BROUGHT HIM HOME. We were trying to figure out puppy food which the one he was on hurt his stomach. Now for life trupanion considers anything digestive a preexisting condition. Thatâs the equivalent of a human baby wearing diapers who has to poop in the diaper and when the child is 8, he/she is considered to have a preexisting condition. Makes no sense, right!?
