The coverage was great the first year we had our dog when she had some intestinal issues that needed to be sorted out but I was assured our rate would not be raised simply because we needed to use it (the whole point of insurance).
The coverage was great the first year we had our dog when she had some intestinal issues that needed to be sorted out, but I was assured our rate would not be raised simply because we needed to use it (the whole point of insurance). However, our rate has been raised twice by quite a decent amount while family & friends who have Trupanion and have dogs of similar age/ breed and haven’t had to file for coverage have NOT had their rates raised at the same percentage. We were told it was because of rising veterinary care, but if that were the case, wouldn’t everyone’s rate go up the same percentage? Three years in, and we are now paying almost a full 25% more than we were the first year.

Scam company
I’ve had a policy with embrace for over 8 years and now it’s almost $4000 a year. They up it 30% every year as soon as your pet has the slightest issue. They play on the “pre-existing conditions” to trap people as dogs get older. Please go elsewhere, the customer service are lovely but very unaware of the company they work for.
