I purchased Embrace Pet insurance for my German Shepherd dogs

I purchased Embrace Pet insurance for two of my dogs six months ago. I researched a lot of companies and settled on Embrace. They seemed to have the best coverage for the price. The person that I signed up with on the phone originally said that they wouldn't cover any illness unless I had a Wellness Check done on my dogs. I thought that was silly considering they weren't sick, but whatever. He also told me that any accidents & injuries would be covered immediately (as in, the next day). Well, the next day, my German Shepherd sliced one of his paw pads really badly, so I made an appointment with my vet for the following day. By the time I got to the vet, a large portion of his paw pad had completely fallen off from the cut and he wasn't limping anymore. I was thankful. He was fine. I decided to go ahead and have a wellness check done since we were there. Embrace did not cover the injury because he had a wellness check and because there was supposedly a 14-day waiting period. Then I called Embrace and spoke to Derrick who checked into it and said that an accident should have been covered immediately and he would resubmit the claim. Today, I received an email from Embrace stating that they would not cover the accident because there was a 30-day waiting period. These guys should really learn about the company they work for and get their stories straight. They also said that the vet's notes said that my mere 2-year-old German Shepherd had some tarter build-up and so that is now a pre-existing condition and they won't cover any dental for him if he has a problem. The paw pad of course, is not a pre-existing condition. And because the vet prescribed a parasite medication, they won't cover anything having to do with a parasite for at least 12 months. I mean, seriously? This is not how businesses should be run. I spend a lot of money on pet insurance and this company is full of a bunch of liars and scam artists. And when I was telling two of my friends about this today, they said that they had a similar experience and decided pet insurance was too expensive and cancelled their policy. When I told them that the company I was talking about was Embrace, they said, "That's the one we had!" So, that clinched it. I'm not nuts. That was enough for me and I have decided to cancel my policies with this company and will be seeking insurance elsewhere (probably the one I have for my other dog, PetFirst with MetLife). I hope this review was helpful for people. I really do not recommend this company at all. And, btw, this is only the second one-star review I have ever given to anyone, so this is legitimately bad in my opinion.

MetLife Pet has been amazing to deal with. They've lowered deductibles when the policy hasn't been used and upped our limit as well. Easy claims and pretty fast payouts.

good price, terrible sales

called service line a sales named Carter give me a quote of $1154 per year and told me it is best price. I told him I checked the website and found a plan with lower price (~840) with similar coverage, and he argued with me saying it is impossible. eventually I have to work on the insurance plan myself on my laptop. it seems the sales is very unprofessional, arrogant and ignorant, trying to bluff and did not even understand we can also check the price online using our laptop... if this is not for the price, I will definitely choose another pet insurance company given the disastrously performance by this sales

Nationwide is really great insurance if…

Nationwide is really great insurance if you dog is young. I have been with them for a long time; however, when my dog turned 8, they took away a lot of my policy. It is when he will need the insurance the most. So I actually doubled up my insurance with them and Trupanion. Yesterday when I wanted to ask a few questions regarding my policy, the initial person I was on the phone with was rude and confusing. She also refused to transfer me to ask more questions. She was insistent that she could help me.... she could not. She said she would only transfer me if I canceled my policy. So I did! I was finally transferred. The second person was amazing and provided me a good experience. I even signed up for another plan that helped support my dogs wellness plan better and it was cheaper as well. I left a 3 because the company diminished my coverage at the age of 8, and the experience with that 1st woman on the phone. However, the first years of my coverage was great, and the customer service is typically better than what I experienced yesterday.

Fetch pet insurance is a scam

Fetch pet insurance is a scam. They say reimbursement rate of 70% meanwhile I got 0.00% back two of my claims. You pay so much monthly for very little results. Very misleading. Very disappointing

Canceling my coverage

I have had Pets Best insurance for 2 dogs for 4 years. they were puppies when we got the insurance. started at $ 60 a month for accident and wellness coverage NOW over $ 90 ea ch. monthly. No accidents just wellness has been turned in for reimbursement. Since Oct 2025, their website is broken. You have to call and wait a minimum of 25 to 45 mins for a live person to discuss how to submit your annual wellness claim. They are polite and give you a no answer answer why the you can't submit your claim. I am cancelling at the end of this month and getting insurance someother place.

Hiked up rates

We have used Healthy Paws for two dogs for 10 years now. Gradual increases are expected on our rate but we went from $250 a month to $1,000 per month. This is unethical and bad faith business practices.
