How to Save Money at Cedar Hill Animal Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

The patience they have with their patients is out of this world. My cat is nothing like a walk in the park(more like nightmare on elm street) but these techs and vets always do their best to provide for him. They listen, care, and look out for everyone’s best interest. They were the first to actually help diagnose my boy with something 4 other clinics couldn’t. 10/10 do recommend cedar hill!

I moved to Columbus with my senior cat and am so glad that I established care at Cedar Hill. They were very helpful, accommodating, patient, and understanding while treating some health issues that she faced in her final years. It is evident that each staff member loves animals and they are all so kind. Dr. Triance demonstrated true compassion while helping my best friend cross over the Rainbow Bridge and I will always be very grateful for that. I remember Dr. Headlee once mentioned that instead of running back into her carrier at the end of the visit, my cat just wanted to stay where she was happiest- in my lap. They all understood how much we loved each other. I wouldn’t have wanted her care to be anywhere else! Thank you.

The amount of times I have been to Cedar Hill in this last year should speak to how much I trust them. My husband and I moved back to the area last April, and our previous vet would rush through us to get to the next client. My dad recommended his vet of over 20 years to us to go see, but I really needed to have somebody close established in the event something happened to any of my babies. Dr. Headlee and every single team member there have NEVER made us feel anything other than respected and heard about our pets. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats that are all patients of Dr. Headlee's and the amount of time, answered questions, pets and love they show myself(minus the pets lol), my husband and our babies. We recently welcomed our 1 dog this past November and they made him feel so welcome, and all the animals (yes, even Ziggy the little terror😂) LOVE and feel comfortable at the vet. I can ask all the questions I want without feeling like I'm overstaying my welcome, the receptionists and techs are always SO kind and check in frequently, they know all of our babies, and I could go on and on. They provide many options and the best course of action for your pet, and I trust them 100%. I plan on getting a couple of reptiles as I grew up with them, so a big plus is knowing that they handle exotic animals there! I seriously would recommend Cedar Hill to anyone who needs to establish their animals there. They are the BEST vet office in Columbus hands down, and we will be giving them our business as long as possible. Thank you from the Bobbitts!! ❤️ Rashid, Hayden, Ziggy, Java, Logan and Liv🥰

I can’t leave multiple reviews, so I wanted to edit to add: I cannot recommend Dr. Headlee and her entire practice enough. Unfortunately, both of my dogs’ health took a turn this past year. As a result, I have spent way more time at the vet than I’d like, but if it’s going to be any vet’s office, I am so grateful it is THIS one. Thank you (again) for always taking wonderful care of my dogs. I can’t imagine having gone through the last 6 months with any other group of veterinary experts, and you have truly made the hardest season of my life more bearable. Thank you for always meeting us with compassion, genuine snuggles, honest recommendations, clear explanations, and a commitment to a path forward with the pet’s best interest always in mind. And a special thank you to Dr. Headlee to continuing to show up, even when it’s to deliver bad news time and time again. It is not lost on me how hard you love your patients (especially mine 🥰) and how hard that must be to go through a season like this with your patient’s parents. I truly cannot love this veterinary practice more ♥️ ———————— I’ve truly never met a more compassionate and caring vet, AND the entire staff at the office. Truly thankful for Dr. Headlee and her entire team taking care of my sick pup (more times than I can count)!
