I wish I had insurance as good as my dog!!!! Thanks Trupanion!!!! Need owner policy =:D) The only thing I do not like is not having a provider list of who does and does not accept Direct Pay. I am sorry but the Vet's that do not, well that is their issue. If I am paying out of pocket and being reimbursed then I should be able to chose from a Direct Pay facility when paying the rate for a zero deductible policy every month. A list of those with the software should be provided. Other than that Trupanion is the absolute Best Insurance I have ever dealt with. Human, Animal, or Property. Please consider the provider list Trupanion, if only for your higher priced Zero deductible plans.

Deductibles
Your deductible per incident is costing me more money than a policy I have with another company for another of my dogs. In addition, this is the second time you tried to apply a new deductible for an already-claimed problem. This last time was for a RENEWAL of an Rx. The rep with whom I spoke apologized saying a careless rep misread the claim. I think not. I think your company tries to deny claims or start new deductibles on purpose to save money. I'd be happy to speak to a supervisor. As you see, I have multiple policies with you and don't appreciate this type of treatment.

Premiums
My comment is about the insurance premiums and not the agent. In the last premium review the correspondence stated that Trupanion was different from other insurers who just increase premiums by an average of 17% per year, however my premiums increased by almost exactly that amount this year. While I appreciate that Veterinary costs have increased - my premiums have pretty much doubled since enrolment! I would also like to see some kind of incentive to those who choose to insure more than one pet. It is a disincentive to own and insure a second pet based on the cost of insurance. A “family plan” with premiums adjusted for number of pets would be a great idea.

If you have a pet, you need their insurance
We, previously, had a sweet boy that required quite a bit of healthcare. We swore that when we ever added another dog to our family, we would obtain pet insurance from day one. This is the best way to cover everything that might happen.....no pre-existing conditions to contend with. I did my research and we went with Healthy Paws, based on the excellent reviews. Our Cavalier will only be turning 5 next week, but she has the unfortunate mitral valve prolapse, that is not uncommon in this breed. She has had two cardiac specialist appts. so far, both covered for the 80% policy that we chose. She recently went to the pet emergency clinic for, what was diagnosed with back pain/injury. It was late at night and she was in obvious pain. We have had prompt reimbursement and can't recommend Healthy Paws more highly.

After spending over a week away from our home after being evacuated during the NorthBay firestorm- our kitty managed to escape from our house and was hit by a car. We had just spent over $1000 due to our evacuation expenses and the cost of our cat's emergency medical care was $2500. I am thoroughly pleased with the service and coverage Embrace has given us. I have never hesitated taking our Labs to the vet over the many years we've had Labs for pets and friends, but now with Embrace there for us, it's much easier on my wallet. I mentioned Embrace to our vet's staff, and their response was that they had heard only good things about Embrace.
