Reimbursements are helpful but processing time takes too long.
We are happy with being able to get some reimbursement with our dogs vet bills. But, I do feel taking 30 days from the time it is received and some times longer is a bit much. I do appreciate the ability to make monthly payments because some times we just don't have enough to pay for a year at a time. I do feel you need to speed up your process for processing claims.

A rue life saver
I have this insurance through my employer. I am so glad I signed up for it because it has been a true life saver! I do not have to worry about balancing vet bills into my budget. I never have to worry again about maybe one day having to make a tough choice between keeping my precious beagle alive with an expensive vet bill or getting behind of living expenses. I am truly appreciative for this service and recommend it to every pet owner I meet.

Large dog claim taken care of
Thanks to Nationwide Pet Insurance, our dog Riley was able to have almost all of her emergency vet surgery covered! We were not expecting to have the surgery and were so relieved when we found out it was covered!!! Would have been $1500 out of pocket for us but we ended up only paying $250!

Fast turn around
Like any insurance its a gamble - up until this month I have been paying $46/mo. for the past 8 years and only just put my first claim in. I would recommend this insurance to people who could not afford a big sudden expense. However, if Trupanion is in a financial situation where you could handle an unexpected pet expense, I would not recommend it because at the end of the day Trupanion is likely going to be paying more than what the bills would have been. That being said, I was impressed at the fast turnaround time for my claim.
