The new plan to pay the doctors directly is great. As a matter of fact it is the main reason I decided to stay with Trupanion despite a recent rate increase.

I would highly recommend Trupanion
I would highly recommend Trupanion to my friends. They have great service, are always reliable, are very speedy in processing claims, have unlimited coverage for any accident, illness or injury, have no caps and have 90 reimbursement to customers. I researched all the vet insurances in detail before purchasing Trupanion for my cat and dog and their overall pet coverage was superior to all the rest.

I've paid the premiums for many
I've paid the premiums for many years and never had a claim until recently. Trupanion has been wonderful since I started making claims for my dogs heart problems and then a cancer problem. They are extremely nice on the phone. The claims are handled quickly and the claim amount is deposited in my bank account within days. I will always get Trupanion insurance for future dogs.

Would recommend 100%. Trupanion has held up their part without fail. My guy is a giant breed so his life expectancy is 8-10 years. I have to wonder if this is because these guys have these orthopedic issues and who can afford the surgery? I'm so glad the decision to operate wasn't due to cost. I do realize that they are not a charity and my premiums are increasing so I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep him insured but I'll always advise people to sign up with as soon as they get their pet. Brew had his second hip surgery today and his surgeon says she expects a good outcome

The customer service is always friendly but rising costs
The customer service is always friendly, but unfortunately how much the price goes up annually is a huge minus. I picked a fairly high deductible to make my monthly payments manageable but I'm paying way more per month than when I first signed up and still have the same high deductible. Makes having insurance almost useless because costs are generally less than my deductible. If my monthly fees go up a substantial amount again at renewal I'll unfortunately have to cancel.
