Best decision I ever made!
Best decision I ever made! My Bull Mastiff suffered 2 ACL tears in a year and Healthy Paws has been great. Ease of use of the app and great customer service. Couldn't give it a higher recommendation!!

Reliable
Been a pet insurance holder with Nationwide for six years and have had a few major medical situations with both my sensitive dogs. The insurance coverage is phenomenal. I have no stress with financial situations thanks to the coverage I chose.

You are the best!
My 1 year old Boston Terrier, Ella needed surgery to correct luxated patella of both back legs. Without your insurance we could not have afforded the surgery. Now Ella is recovering well and we are very glad we decided to purchase your insurance for her. Thank you 😊

disappointed
Luna tore her ACL. The X-ray revealed bone cancer also. Our first visit to the vet cost in excess of $1000, to say nothing of additional medicines. It's an expensive disease to treat and I find the $625 cap to be wholly inadequate and unreasonable. I put a rating of 5 to remain neutral for the time being as we have resubmitted vet reports for additional consideration of the ACL expense.

Nationwide gives me peace of mind
I have three dogs and all are insured. Yes, the premiums are expensive, but I have peace of mind knowing that I will receive payment for any illness or injury, large or small. Even though I try hard to keep my pets healthy and safe, accidents happen and illnesses occur. When they do I submit my claims and get reimbursed for much of the cost. Having Nationwide pet insurance allows me to get better care for my pets than I would be able to afford on my own. This is going to be even more critical when I transition from full time employment to retirement later this year. I have had this insurance on all my pets since adopting them, but had it the longest on my 13-year-old whippet, Sam. I have seen changes in how claims are submitted and payments made over the many years I've had Sam. The new VitusVet claim process is so quick and easy! It used to be an ordeal to get all the paperwork together to submit a claim via fax or the USPS. Now I just fill out the information on the app and take a photo of my invoice and press send. What could be easier than that? And, recently Nationwide has added Chase Pay which deposits my reimbursement directly into my bank account. All I do is approve the amount and it appears in my account! My only concern is that it seems to be taking longer than usual to get claims processed. Despite this one small concern I highly recommend Nationwide Pet Insurance.

Good Service But Slow Claim Settlement
Claims slower than previously for a simple visit and followup, almost 30 days from submission. Slower than the old VPI group and annual fee and I believe deductible are much higher.

Very good customer service, not sure it's worth the money
Nationwide is easy to deal with. However, the premiums are extremely high. The latest jump was a $25/month increase over last year, which I think is way too high. I'm not sure it's cost effective when you factor in premium vs what's covered.

like life insurance - you pay but hope you never have to use
At first I was wondering why I subscribed to Trupanion. Since JoJo was healthy there was no gain for us. Then he became diabetic and Trupanion paid off for both hospital visits and a portion of his supplies. This is like life insurance - you pay but hope you never have to use. I would recommend to people who understand that the insurance works for the big problems and not the nickel and dime costs of having a pet.
