Took longer to review than it should have

The company sure is interested in getting me to buy insurance and sent me several reminders to purchase, but given they paid less than half of what I was charged in my 30 day trial, I won't be keeping it past the 30 days.

Extremely easy process

Extremely easy process, simple to make a claim and I received my reimbursement very fast. I'm in Modesto, CA and I took my dog in for overall health, rabies, influenza, and microchip. I thought I wasn't going to be covered for the entire bill.

Routine puppy check up, micro chip, shots. They covered most of it & got our claim back within a week!! Great service, highly recommend

The convenience of having the vet submit claims was great!

The convenience of having the vet submit claims was great! Learning that Trupanion does NOT cover the exam fee was sad.

Easy but not always fair

It is very easy to use the VitusVet app to submit claims. I have been satisfied with most of the decisions, but I think Nationwide is too liberal with the preexisting condition classification. I will have to do a thorough analysis at the end of the year to determine whether or not it is worth continuing.

Worst company - they are a scam

I've had insurance with them for 13 YEARS straight, since my dog was a puppy. I've been paying $30-$40 per month in premiums for 13 YEARS and only submitted 3 or 4 times - only ONE of which was approved. I just submitted a claim for preapproval for $2200 and was approved for a measly $150. Ridiculous considering I’ve put in far more than that in premiums. DO NOT GET TRUPANION - they are a sham “insurance” that will never pay out.

Expensive but worth it

I pay more for Ringo's health insurance than I do for my own; however, the Wellness coverage makes it partly pay for itself, and I have the reassurance of knowing that I could afford my share of whatever happens in future. 7 years ago I lost my Kymdog to Lymphoma. She was not insured and I spent thousands of dollars over 2 years to keep her comfortable for as long as she had a reasonable quality of life. Now I feel I have piece of mind, whatever the future brings.

So happy I made the switch to ASPCA Pet Health Insurance for my furry kiddos!

I am a convert from another pet insurance company that rhymes with "companion": I experienced the nadir of customer service, coverage, reimbursement and overall satisfaction there. That said, I had my doubts when I first switched to ASPCA. Those doubts were almost immediately assuaged by the experience I had, and continue to have, with ASPCA. The claims process could not be easier. The phone app is excellent and easy to use. I have received amazing reimbursements (one of my pugs had an extended bout of pneumonia). They give at least partial reimbursements on things no other company will. When you call, you actually talk to a HUMAN...and a "local" one at that! They actually call you to check up on your pet's well being and are genuinely concerned! Seriously, what other insurance company does that?!?! And after every illness claim! My human health insurance can't even touch that, and I have "good" health insurance! The thing that made me first make the switch though, was when I looked up "companion"s reviews on an online review site. The company didn't respond to a single one of the many negative reviews it had received. When I looked at ASPCA's reviews, they had responded to every single one of the few negative reviews in an attempt to fix the issue. That said a lot to me. Yes, it costs a bit more. But when I factor in the reimbursements and the satisfaction, ASPCA is the clear choice. I could not be happier :)

Great plan

Very satisfied with Nationwide for fast claim service. The plan pays for almost everything. It gives us peace of mind knowing our baby is protected. I would highly recommend nationwide. We also have our 2 houses covered by Nationwide
