Customer service helpful, coverage iffy

Embrace customer service has been helpful, but like with any insurance company they make you jump through hoops to get things covered. They require an orthopedic exam within the first few months of your plan, otherwise your pet is not covered for muscle-related issues (in our case, a rambunctious puppy that was fine within a week but we had checked out JUST in case). When I mentioned this orthopedic exam to my vet they made it sound like that was completely ridiculous - that exam requires a specialty office. I have their full plan - the regular insurance and wellness. Submitting a claim is easy, you have to log in to see any details (sometimes they'll email to let you know when info is available, but you have to log on to the portal), adding documentation to an existing claim is REALLY clunky. They haven't figured this out yet - you can't attach to a specific claim and have no idea if a claim they closed, requiring additional info, is being reopened with new documentation. It just isn't a great process. All in all, we got this coverage for our dog's first year as a puppy, but I'm not convinced pet insurance is truly worth it. Using their wellness program for the year, I'm only saving myself ~$60 (vs paying out of pocket), but if I didnt have this I'd save myself the hassle of submitting claims and arguing with them about whether something should be covered or not. This is why I'm saying 'no, I dont recommend this company'

I love Embrace Pet Insurance and would and have recommended Embrace Pet Insurance to other furry four legged parents

We are very happy with Embrace Pet Insurance not only they way that you help with our pet's needs but also the customer service. When I call with a question the representatives are always very helpful and understanding if I do not understand something with our policy. They are courteous and patient, I don't know if we would be able to take care of our dog Holly in the way that she needs if we didn't have Embrace Pet Insurance's help. I know everything is going up in cost, I hope and wish that you will keep in mind us pet owners when you have to raise the rates, because some of us would love to keep Embrace Pet Insurance as part of our family.

Great Company and great no hassle claims handling

When you spend a lot for a pet insurance policy, you are always skeptical. I purchased their premium whole pet policy because I have Dachshunds. As I have owned several over the years, they have pretty much predisposed medical issues especially with orthopedics and skin rashes/allergies. One of my dogs in the past had an $8,000 pack surgery. With my new pups I made the decision to insure them. I have had several health and emergency events already at 1 1/2 years of age. To wit, they ate a pound of licorice pastilles. One of them had to have his stomach pumped and another time one of them ate some plastic; another emergency visit! One of them has already had skin issues. They were very expensive especially having to use an emergency clinic after business hours and specialists. I have to say I have never been denied compensation for anything due to what other companies categorize as "preexisting" and you will never get premium increases due to use of policy. There are however incremental policy premium increases for each renewal year but these are normal and customary in the industry but with Nationwide this is the same for everybody. This is the Cadillac. Look no further. My policies have paid for themselves not only in compensation but peace of mind. Thank you Nationwide!

Comforting to have an insurance plan

Lizzie Jean (a Goldendoodle) suffered gastrointestinal problems for several days around the holidays that included diarrhea and vomiting with red color in it. After multiple rounds of x-rays, blood test, fecal tests and physical exams nothing conclusive was found that was the source of her problem. The good news is after putting her on a bland diet for a week she has fully recovered and is back to normal. The bill for a relative minor problem was almost $1K. Thank goodness it wasn't anything more serious. Even though this is the 1st time in 2.5 years I have needed to use the insurance I know from past experience how expensive a serious illness can be for a pet. When you have a sick pet you don't care what the cost is to make them better but when the smoke settles it is very comforting to have an insurance plan which can help out. It is especially great when the claim submittal process and payout is a painless as it was with Pets Best insurance.

Nothing but great experiences

I have had great experiences with trupanion. It has been a huge savings to me. I also feel like I can get my pets the care they need without worrying about how I am going pay the bill. Every customer service person has been helpful and empathetic.
