Major price increase, too many preexisting conditions not covered and hereditary excuses

I have been a loyal customer for over 3 years. I had coverage on 2 dogs. Everything my BullMastiff has ever needed, (besides shots and meds) isn’t covered. We’ve always heard , sorry it’s her breed, that’s hereditary, she has too many wrinkles, now that will be a preexisting condition. I Paid a small fortune for 2 dogs & barely got back $400 last year. My boxers insurance plan, just came up for renewal today, I supposedly had the Good plan. They raised her rate “”28”” bucks a MONTH!!! That’s ALOT.... I was told they raised her rate because of her age. Really, she’s “”” 3 years old”” !!! We have never had any major claims on her, The normal year shots and heartworm/flea pills. She had Kennel cough, as a pup at about 6 weeks of age. She’s now considered a pre existing condition, for anything upper respiratory!! Too much in the fine print that isn’t covered, that you don’t know about ,until you submit your claim. Pay very close attention to your yearly premiums. I would have never noticed it went up, but I got a alert from my credit card provider, saying a nationwide charge had been approved. When I looked at it, it wasn’t my normal charge per month. I’m beyond frustrated & just cancelled both of my policies. I have wasted too much money here.

Coverage is good for major needs but average for routine visits

ASPCA pet insurance is very good coverage for the major things. It is above average for routine on non well visits. There reasonable and customary charges are lower that our area

Handled with empathy

My dog has lymphoma and it was time to renew his policy. It was very pricey. So I called to cancel with the intention of self-insuring. The representative found a way to significantly lower my premium by changing the deductible for any future problems. This is a very emotional time for me and she handled it with grace and empathy.

Pets Best insurance has been a god send

My dog has had many health issues in the last 2 years. Pets Best insurance has been a god send. It is hard enough to make tough medical decisions about a beloved pet. mitigating the financial burden certainly made all the medical decisions easier. I am so glad I have Pets Best Insurance!

Doesn't cover pre-existing conditions

I have an animal named Augie that was a rescue and adopted by my mother I have inherited this cat and purchased the best of the plans you offer BUT you won't cover her on chronic issue because you deemed it entirely pre-existing condition and will cover non of these bills. That is extremely disappointing as I am such a good client and pay a huge amount each year for multiple animals. That really has left a bad feeing w/ me for future Thank you for listening (reading) Marla

Best thing I could do for Jeni was get her health insurance

Best decision I ever made. My yellow lab has allergies and has had a few ear infections and having insurance on her helps me take the best care for her that I can.

So glad we have pet insurance!

Sometimes we go months betweenvet visits and sometimes it seems we go several times a week with one pet or another. People think pet ownership isn't expensive but doing it right and not having to postpone vet care is expensive. Nationwide picks up the bulk of the cost and lets me manage a significant but reasonable monthly cost. Having those reimbursement checks come in is awesome.

Great coverage!

Immediately I adopted my cat I made sure he was insured, I wanted a plan that included wellness care and this was the only one. The premium is good, I paid for 90% coverage so It's a little bit more expensive but worth it in case my furry baby gets sick. The only bad thing I could say is that It takes almost a month to get reimbursed and that's kind of long in my opinion. Other than that, it's easy to claim expenses, I snap a few pictures and that's all, then they deposit to my account. Easy right?

We like Nationwide although the cost is nearly prohibitive for us to use it.

It is nice to have insurance for the dogs, we have two, but the cost for the male is nearly prohibitive. He was born with Spineabifida and has not cost any more in vet bills than his sister Lilly but because he had a preexisting illness from birth his insurance is nearly twice as much as his sister's. It's nice to have at of their doctor bills covered but surely wish Nationwide would considering lowering their rates.
