Health Paws coverage is fair and affordable

Healthy paws pet insurance has been a godsend. Our rescue boy, Joey, recently had to spend four days and three nights in the hospital due to a bacterial infection that went into his bloodstream. It was a very serious, life-threatening condition, and it was emotionally/nerve-racking to deal with. Healthy paws made the process a bit easier, especially since we didn’t have to worry as much about the financial implications of such a serious condition. Good veterinarian care is not cheap, and it’s wise to have pet health insurance. Hopefully, one will never need it, but when the need arises, as it did in our case, healthy paws really helped.

Fantastic pet insurance. Don’t know how we could have managed without it!

Best pet insurance I could ask for. Almost every problem is covered without a lot of hassle. Customer friendly. Claims are super easy to send in for processing. Love getting the monthly newsletter which is very informative. Email conformation that my claim is being processed. Prompt and timely reimbursement. Just the best!

Exhausting to deal with

If I could switch companies, I would! But my guy is stuck here because he has medication conditions he developed while on Pets Plus Us. There's almost always some problem or another that you need to call them about.. often them blaming the vet/waiting on the vet which is not true. My vets have shown me proof when they've sent what this company requests and they say they get this problem from PPU all the time. One of my vet clinics has stopped recommending this company. Their customer service is horrible. I just spent 20 mins on the phone, most of it on hold trying to sort out my monthly premiums ($200) for my cats and the discount I was supposed to be getting. Let me say this is the second time I've had to call.. and the first resolved nothing at all, which is typical of PPU. After 20 mins they either hung up on the other end or the call dropped, that's was 20 mins ago. No call back. Nothing. Still unresolved. Add to that.. one of my cats I have an e-mail from them stating the monthly premium would be x amount, and they actually charge nearly $10 more a month than I have them on e-mail stating it would be. I feel this company counts on just exhausting you fighting to get things resolved.. hoping you'll just give up. I don't recommend this company at all, it's far too much hassle. I've been with them for going on 3 years now. Oh and I've never gotten a reimbursement for my cats medications from last May! They denied it.. and it's the exact same ongoing medications they've continue to cover! lol Figure that one out? Literally no change or different, they just decide to decline a month of his monthly medications then resume covering it again lol Not the first time they've done this. They're very unreliable. I'm exhausted trying to deal with them. Reading other reviews it seems I'm not the only one. I will say the positives I've found is that they do cover alternative treatments and when they're not trying to wear you down and are actually on the ball, they're great.

So Helpful

Having this Affordable insurance on Sophie keeps me worry free and helps so much with the cost of wellness, too. It keeps me from procrastinating so I get her shots, heartworm prevention and flea prevention meds on time! Reimbursement turn around time has been great! I get it before the credit card bill! Thank you, Nationwide!

It was quick and easy to make claim after making sure you have all that you need to submit!

I am glad I got pet insurance through nationwide! I have only heard great things!! And after my dog had to have surgery after she ate something, the bills were crazy but nationwide kept with what was advertised and we got 90% back what we paid. Pet insurance was one of the best decisions I could of made! They helped out big time!

Gracie's Fairy God Parents

My 7 year old Gracie has been through a lot from Tooth extractions, to bladder problems. Since 2 months old she has been insured by Nationwide and I am beyond pleased. Upon her last visit she needed multiple procedures, and I did not blink over payment knowing she was covered. I received a check not more than 2 weeks after her surgery! They cover almost everything in a comprehensive plan. Both my pups are covered and I would recommend them to any pet parent! Certainly eases my mind.

Well care could be better on coverage.

I’ve been with NW for about 13-15 years. Pele , KeiKei, Sammy, now Luna. Always been good. I disappointed on coverage for annual shots , but Luna is well taken care of.

Excellent Insurance

I love knowing my pets are covered by Nationwide. There is no hassle with claims, all wellness and illness visits are covered. I would rather pay every month and know I am covered for unexpected emergencies than get hit with that decision of paying or saying goodbye to my baby.

Many issues, Pet Insurance helps!

Tinkerbelle has many issues. With the help of Pet Insurance we are able to take care of her as necessary. I wish there was a policy for Medication, food, her necessary Rehab sessions and that the Max for each illness was a little higher. I always "Max Out" as far as coverage a few months after I renew my policy. Bucky will be a diabetic for 1 year in April. Meds and food are quite an expense each month. I will call occasionally for an explanation and the representative makes me feel like I'm asking for something I didn't pay for. I have been a member since VPI, about 20 years and I will again renew my policy so I can care for "my kids" with help.
