Great insurance, substantial rate increase
I signed up with Nationwide when my puppy was 8-9 weeks old. The insurance at that time was $60/month, with a 250 annual deductible. The insurance is very good, the claims are fairly easy and they offer direct deposit. Customer service is usually pretty good, depending on who answers the phone (I've only encountered a couple representatives that weren't very friendly or acted like they cared about my concern)... Most are nice. As most pet owners know, you'll usually only meet your deductible the first year because after 6 months of age, you just take your pet for an annual check up. So it used to cost almost $1000 a year (60/month + 250 deductible) to have this insurance, which I do have the type that covers 90%. On the other hand, it does give me peace of mind knowing that my pet is covered should anything unexpected happen. My dog is 2 1/2 years old now, last year I didn't make any claims because I never went over my deductible. This year, to my surprise, the rate increased 50%! It is now $90.92!!!! I understand that all insurances go up a little, and in Nationwide's terms it states that there may be a slight increase upon renewal, but I do not consider this increase to be "slight". I do enjoy having peace of mind knowing that my pet will be covered if any accident or illness should arise, and I do think overall that this insurance is good in regards to coverage and processing of claims. But I'm not happy with the rate increase and the annual deductible. If you're paying that much per year, I don't think you should have to meet a deductible every year and now the cost is substantially higher.

Fantastic insurance, well worth the cost.
I haghly recommend Nationwide pet insurance. Their coverage is great, filing a claim is extremely easy, and payment is very quick. It is well worth the cost.

Very Slow Claims Process
I submitted a claim for my dog's surgery that was very pricey, and I am still waiting to hear back/get refunded two months later. I had another claim that was just over $200, and this claim was filed and refunded within a timely manner.... But not the $2K claim.... This claim is being dragged on and on with zero notifications. The entire reason that I switched to the wellness program was for situations like this.... and now I am unsure if it was worth it. I have already hit my deductible, and now I am having to wait to receive any refunds.

Easy App, Seamless Reimbursement
Never had an issue, don't always get full reimbursement, but mostly obtain a majority of reimbursement of costs. No paperwork, just scan via phone app and checks come weeks later with little issues or complications.

I appreciate the claims processing speed
I've been a policy-holder for 10 years, and I must say I've been continually pleased with the increase in claims processing rate of a few days. The online submission process is also a huge improvement and so easy to use. However, I hope the premiums do not keep rising at the same rate. When I started I was paying about $30/mo, and now I'm at $50. Please don't raise them much anymore, I'm very happy with how things are now.

Good pet insurance but it seems there is a lot they don't allow
It takes a rather long time to get reimbursed and things that I think should be covered are not, but when I do get reimbursed it is very helpful.

VERY HAPPY WITH NATIONWIDE PET INSURANCE
Rocky had an ear infection for which I received medication. My vet submitted my claim & in no time, I had a notice that I was receiving reimbursement. I am very please with the prompt response as well as being able to get direct deposit. I had VPI/Nationwide insurance for a previous dog [Lucy] and was please then. That's why I stayed with Nationwide.

Nationwide is the Best
Our Bulldogs have more skin issues in the summer due to the heat. Without Nationwide, we would not be able to afford giving them the best care to resolve their issues and keep them comfortable.

Excellent coverage offered by this plan!
We changed pet insurance carriers several months ago. Earlier this year, one of our cats was diagnosed with mammary chain cancer. Nationwide has been prompt in processing our claims and has continued to pay for her treatment. I have no doubt that my other policy would have maxed out by now. Also extremely easy to collect claims payments.

Nationwide Pet Insurance is Amazing! I wish I'd had it years ago!
When I first got my little Aussie two years ago, I was skeptical about pet insurance, thought it wasn't really necessary or more money than it's worth. But now I wish I'd had it years ago for my other two furbabies! Not only did they cover my Cassie's spaying in the first year I had it, but they've already shown just how great they are with all of the reimbursements since. Knowing it covers her heart worm pills, flea protection, prescription food if she needs it, sold me from day 1. My older dog is 15 yo and is way beyond insurance at this point. In his life, he was neutered, had many visits to the vet due to health issues, exploratory surgery at age 9 to discover possible cancer, ultrasounds and needle aspirations at a specialist, everything. He has been on prescription food for six years now, and knowing that would have been covered when it costs me $160/m.... I really can't praise Nationwide enough. And I even did cost comparisons, and no other company actually offered as much coverage for the same price. The others were lower by a few dollars on their coverage, but only covered at most 2/3's of what Nationwide does. I will never go without pet insurance from Nationwide again!
