Nationwide Pet Insurance is great. I esp like their Wellness Plan. Premiums are reasonable. Payments are prompt. Using CHASE Bank,the payment goes into my bank account usually within 1-2 days.Much better than waiting for a check.

Peace of Mind
I never hesitate to bring my Frenchie to the vet because I know it’s covered. Unfortunately with my older Shepherd I have to pick & choose what vet visits are necessary because she was too expensive to cover. I think nationwide needs to give multiple dog families a larger discount. Offering a credit to members who file minimum claims would also be nice.

Easy to use insurance, a must for your pets
We have a Bernese Mountain Dog and because we were worried about not being able to cover things should an accident occur, we got Nationwide Pet Insurance. It's been so helpful because we have a lot of friends who don't have insurance and it's hard seeing them struggle and figure out if their dog gets the treatment that it needs--it's heartbreaking. We've been very satisfied with Nationwide but would encourage people to get the insurance as soon as possible because anything (e.g., getting diarrhea) that shows up prior to the insurance will be treated as a pre-existing condition (e.g., gastroentitus).

No one wants to have to worry about do I or don't I treat my pets most critical illness. While small routine care can be postponed, the life or death, critical illness is urgent. I never want to make my financial health more important than my pets health. Pet insurance in my opinion is prepaid budgeting for those times when you most need it. It's pet owners pooling their budget to spread out coverage. Owning an animal costs include food and healthcare. When I look back over the 20 years I have had pet insurance I realize the insurance provided life saving support for loyal companions. I didn't make money, I didn't lose money. Carefully selecting our pet insurance has given us the peace of mind. Most recently, our dog was bleeding while going to the bathroom and while sitting. Waiting saw the condition continue and our vet redirected us to an emergency facility. The cost for care estimate was substantial - around $1400 and a shock. Having Nationwide Pet Insurance let us proceed with care without financial worry. Our deductible and copayment amount was affordable. After our dog was treated and recovered our claim for reimbursement from Nationwide came through easily using VitusVet. I can’t express enough how foolish it is not to have pet insurance. It truly saves you a ton of money. Don’t learn the hard way like me and wait until after a $10,000 ACL surgery to realize you should’ve had pet insurance!

Rip you off!
I had FIGO for a year and my premium doubled. It went from $60/month to $120. That's ludicrous. I've had several different pet insurance companies not one single one has doubled in premium, maybe a couple dollars more at most to increase. When you call to complain they only say "well premiums go up". Ummmm no, they don't double. My friend had the EXACT same experience with FIGO. Stay away unless you want your premiums to increase dramatically!
