Takes the financial stick out of vet visit
I'm pleased that we decided to maintain insurance with pets best, starting with Artemis was a puppy. She has generally been very healthy over the past 11, but some things pop up when least expected - ear infections and recently a series of seizures. It's good to know that we're not totally exposed to the full cost of veterinary services and medications. Very satisfied with Pets Best, despite an increase in premiums last year.

ASPCA Is The Best Insurance For Your Pet
I recently had to make a few claims for my English Bulldog puppy who developed a cherry eye when he was 4 months old. He had the cherry eye surgically corrected but then developed a rare complication from the surgery procedure requiring a second surgery for correction. ASPCA was wonderful during this time. They covered the consultation for his eyes, both surgeries, and the medication he needed during this time. It was so easy to submit the claims. It took about a minute through my phone on their app. The claims department reviewed the claims quickly and each claim was processed within 2 weeks with the money deposited directly into my checking account. They even called to check in on my puppy to make sure he was doing ok! The monthly price for the insurance is reasonable and worth it. They saved me thousands of dollars on his care. I highly recommend ASPCA for pet insurance.

Best Pet Insurance, Ever!
After spending 11 years of frustration dealing with ASPCA Insurance, they fortunately discontinued our plan. This forced us to look for new insurance, and gratefully, we found FIGO. Our previously healthy Havanese developed a life-threatening tumor some months after joining FIGO. I was prepared for charges to be denied, arguments and the usual irritation of dealing with an insurance company. Instead, I uploaded the bills (very expensive as you could imagine) and within a few days the reimbursement was in our bank account. Every charge was paid at 80% of the total bill, not the “usual and customary” (which is always woefully underpriced). In addition, after his surgery, our fur baby has some lingering anemia problems. Every charge for this continued care has been paid as well. I even recommended FIGO to our vet, who was impressed when I told him our experience with the company. He is now recommending FIGO for his patients. If there were a way to give higher than 10, I would. Just as an aside, if you ever have a question- they actually answer the phone on the first or second ring , and every person I’ve spoken with is knowledgeable. We are very happy campers!!

Didn’t cover anything
I had to have tests performed to rule out something like a bowel obstruction. It turned out that that wasn’t the issue, and it seems like she had a stomach virus. Because you somehow determined she has a pre-existing condition, none of the costs are covered. That doesn’t seem right, especially when tests are needed to rule out something serious.

Wish you covered more
I wish that more was covered. I have two policies for Gracie, and I feel like I’m still putting a lot of money out of pocket. And I think that more of her spay should have been covered as vets encourage it for cancer reasons.

Wouldn't have a pet without having pet insurance!
Our 4 1/2 year old Golden Retriever has never eaten anything other than food/treats. All of a sudden one afternoon she vomited a good amount of plastic -- two kinds, two colors. Have never figured out where it came from - best guess is from inside of a plush toy. She is an inside dog and never in our yard without supervision. So after she vomited we figured that was out of he system, but 8 hours later in the middle of the night she vomited more plastic, so off to the emergency clinic we went. She was admitted and observed and some testing was done and she was discharged after about 15 hours. At home she vomited again mid-day (no plastic) and then late afternoon vomited her food, so fearing possible obstruction we took her back to the emergency clinic. Ultimately she had an ultrasound to look for obstruction -- none found, so discharged. Two days later she vomited again, food and more plastic! Took her to another emergency clinic for second opinion and treatment -- endoscopy done, no plastic found. No further vomiting after this, but this ended up being 8 days of worry and repeated trips and evaluations at two emergency clinics. Total charges were $3,959 and we were reimbursed $3,253. We could not have give our sweet pup the care and attention she needed without Healthy Paws, and if there had been an obstruction without her getting treatment she very well may have died! We are so grateful for Healthy Paws.
