The Ultimate Pet Insurance

After having 4 sweet & furry four legged babies, we decided to obtain pet insurance. With much research and trepidation, we enrolled with Nationwide. All of our fears were quickly eliminated after our first claim! It is without a doubt the easiest process; easy submittal, quick processing time, customer reps available without any delay and speedy payments. We are so pleased that we chose Nationwide and have recommended the plan to others with confidence. Thank you for eliminating our doubts and ensuring insurance for our best friends.

Cancelled My Policy With Nationwide

I purchased Nationwide Pet Insurance with some doubt, because insurance in general is usually such a scam.... but vet bills are expensive so I thought if I just broke even and got the chance to pay vet bills in the form of monthly insurance payments instead of all at once that would be helpful. Honestly, at first I was pleasantly surprised. After my deductible was paid off, my pup had a bacteria infection in his paw and needed vet care.... I submitted the claim and within days I got refunded $300 of the $495 that I had spent on the bill..... However, about a week later after playing in a creek, my pup started shaking his head a lot indicating he had an ear issue... so back the vet we went. He was diagnosed with an ear infection and I paid $195 for the visit and medications. I was expecting the same result as before, that I would get my claim processed and it would be deposited in my account. Instead, I got a letter asking for “more medical records relating to his visit”...... I didn’t have more medical records. I adopted him in January of 2019 and the only records I had were his 2 year annual visit from April of 2019 and the the one other visit for the bacteria / paw infection.... I emailed them ,and to their credit they do email back quickly, and they told me to get this claim paid I would need to provide medical records dating from Jul 3, 2018. A full six months before I had even adopted him. I didn’t have them., and I emailed back and asked why they would need medical records for a year prior to an ear infection so the claim could be paid? I then sat down and figured up what I had spent on the insurance and what had been paid out to me and realized that if they paid the $200 claim that they were denying (for the ear infection) I would be ahead by about $150 as far as the insurance actually saving me money.... However, I think they prevent that from happening. They paid the first claim because I had already paid them $400 in monthly billing and spent $250 on vet bills with the deductible.... so they could pay the $300 and they were still making money off of me. But, if they had approved the additional claim of $200 they would be spending money on my dog and not making money... and they can’t let that happen. So I cancelled my policy with nationwide, I am going to try Pets Best and see how that goes. I understand that insurance companies have to make money, but they should at least cover what the say they will, and not try to “get out of covering something” based on how much you have paid vs how much the claim will be. Would not use nationwide again.

Excellent and reassuring service

Now that Harry is a "senior" at 17 1/2, the inevitable medical issues related with age develop. The coverage provided by Embrace has made the treatments we are giving Harry less of both a financial and emotional burden. Because of Embrace Harry is with us and we hope for quite some time to come. I have - and will continue to - recommend Embrace to all who have animal family members.

Good For Keeping Pets Healthy Year Round

Nationwide Pet Insurance has given me a lot of peace of mind when it comes to my dog's health. She'll have minor allergy flare ups depending on the season and it's nice to be able to take her to the vet for treatment without having to worry about cost.

Quick, Professional, Value

My dog, Doodles, has had a few "issues" with some other dogs and with dermatology problems over the past few years, and I am SO happy that I have Healthy Paws pet insurance to cover the inevitable high cost of emergency hospital visits and treatments. The on-line set-up is terrific and easy to complete without any problems, and the response time for my claims has always been outstanding. I had VIP pet insurance with my previous Lab, and I can honestly say that Healthy Paws is far better and a greater value.
