Excellent customer service from beginning of a claim to the end. Worth every penny for monthly premiums. Always friendly and always fair. I'm so happy we went with Trupanion 10 years ago. The claims are very easy to submit. They are acknowledged quickly, and payment is very fast.My regret is that, being on a fixed income, I don't know how much longer I can keep up with the premiums which have risen dramatically in the 4 years I have had the policy.

It is getting increasingly expensive and as my cat, Nutmeg, is relatively young I wonder if insurance is necessary. She is an indoor cat and therefore does not come in contact with dangers or harmful bacteria/viruses. So many routine costs are not covered given the amount I am paying. However, I have faced the situation where having insurance probably was a break even experience on a number of occasions. Kidney failure in a young cat, as well in an elderly cat and when my dear dog, Gabby, developed a tumour on her brain. So I keep on paying and hope that I really do not have to make use of it but it is there if I need it.

Dogs give so much to us.
Having insurance on our 2 dogs has been a godsend. When one of our girls was diagnosed with DCM, Trupanion made it possible for us to give her the vet recommended medication without the a second thought. Her last few months of life were filled with high quality living; walks, play time and sleeping with our other dog. When we knew it was time (every dog owner knows when it is time for last good byes). Some of the expense of a home visit by a veterinarian was covered. We were able to treat our girl with the upmost love and respect. It would have been a heavy expense if not for insurance.

Covered Cats
I like the availability of phone support. Everyone I have dealt with has been professional and friendly. I wish a little more was covered. With three cats covered it can get pricey, but they are young and I expect to get good use out of having insurance as they age. I wish I had had it with my previous cats.
