Great timley service
Very happy with ease and speed of claims process. However after one year a big premium increase. In all fairness I had two expensive claims ( total approx $1500) in the first year, not sure if that influenced it. But I'm keeping the service and am very pleased with the claims process. Thank you.

Better than expected in every way
My dog was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma. Immediately you have to make decisions that are very costly. Even the tests to determine what she had are hundreds of dollars. Insurance gives you the confidence that you can run the tests needed to determine what your pet has. Once we confidently knew she had Lymphoma I called in for the first time so I understand the limitations of my pet insurance and received better than expected results as the rep was extremely friendly and assured me of what my policy covered. Without asking she covered the details and let me know my policy had a $7,500 max annual payout which seemed more than reasonable. I was concerned certain tests or procedures may not be covered but as long as they don't fall into the clearly documented categories that are more cosmetic rather than life threatening the treatments would be covered. I submitted two claims and it worked just as advertised. They kept the initial deductible and after that paid out 90%. The payout feature is extremely easy through Chase and went straight to my bank. I have confidence that I understand my plan and Nationwide will do the right thing. Unfortunately I only have 6-10 months with my pet and she is only 3. I have only had pet insurance for 2 years so Nationwide will never be compensated fully for the coverage they provided her, but I will be a lifelong customer with every pet I have. Thank you for following through on the commitment and not making a difficult process even harder with red tape or ridiculous scrutiny on what is covered.

Very happy to have made the decision to purchase pet insurance; and Healthy Paws proved to be the right choice for us.
After purchasing two Lab puppies I was considering buying pet insurance. Then a friend told me he had just spent $10,000 in emergency vet bills for his dog. That cinched it for me. I immediately researched available pet insurance and selected Health Paws primarily because they do not have an upside limit on claims. They pay their share of what the claim totals. In addition, their rates were very reasonable and competitive. Although I would have preferred to never make a claim, the situation arose where we were looking at substantial emergency veterinary hospital bills. It was so helpful to know we could allow the doctors to use any measures necessary to save our dogs' life and that costs would be primarily covered by the insurance. Healthy Paws really came through for us, and our dog is doing great.

Thrilled to bits!
The vet clinic works with Trupanion and they only billed me for my portion of the expenses. I was thrilled with this process and thrilled that Trupanion accepted the claim. I am very very happy that I purchased insurance. I have been a pet owner my whole life and this is the first time, I have insured a pet. THANK YOU so very much!
