Not overly happy with coverage
I was unaware that an emergency consultation was no covered which was very expensive. I am seriously thinking of cancelling. I will discuss with my vet when I go in for my follow up.

Mostly satisfied, somewhat dissatisfied.
I am grateful for my decision to buy pet insurance for the first time. I've had a lot of pets and never done it before, but experience has proven that it's a good idea, especially with a new puppy! I am, however, disappointed that our recent "emergency visit" fees were considered "exam fees" and therefore not covered. It seems like an unethical loophole being taken. How do you take a dog in for a legitimate emergency and not expect the vet to exam all parts of her to assess the full scope of her injuries? I know and understand that routine care is not covered, but the er visit due to trauma is far from routine and exactly what I bought insurance for. I am quite upset that the full trauma fees are not covered. On a positive note, the speed at which most of my claims were addressed is appreciated, and the direct deposit payment is very convenient. There is one outstanding claim that I have no idea why it's been "pending" for nearly 2 weeks now. Some info regarding Trupanion's questions would be appreciated, and if they called me, perhaps I could be helpful...

Trupanion did not cover my puppy’s ear infection. I had to pay out of pocket. I’m also confused because I don’t know why I had to dish out more money for something I paid monthly to have cover something like this.

Trupanion is always qucik to respond!
We have had Trupanion for 8 yrsan have recently added a second dog to our family and added her on as well. Although we haven't had to submit many claims over the years Trupaninon is always quick to respond to our claims and pays in a very timely manner.

The best pet insurance you can get
When my first dog joined our family, I looked into all that dog ownership entails and discovered that health insurance is available for dogs. I researched many companies and finally, due to their many great reviews, decided upon Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. When I eventually needed to use my insurance, I was happy to find that the reviews I based my decision upon were true. My dog has had many procedures as well as two major surgeries. I have had such great experiences with this company that I finally decided to write a review. My dog’s last surgery and tests took place in September. I filed three claims with Healthy Paws on September 28, 2020. I immediately received an email letting me know they were working on my claims and that they wanted me “to focus on caring for your pet and not worry about your pet health policy.” That same day, September 28th, two of my claims were completed. The third claim was completed the following day. In addition, I received a separate email asking me how my dog was recovering after surgery and hoping that all was well with him. Healthy Paw’s timely response to all my claims as well as the care and concern they have exhibited for my pet’s well-being make them the best place to go for pet insurance. I highly recommend them.

Trupanion saved my bank account!
I purchased Trupanion insurance for my Great Dane puppy, just in case we would need it. This past summer, when she was about 19 months, she suddenly became extremely sick. She tested positive for Addison’s disease, pneumonia and pancreatitis. I am so thankful that we had Trupanion insurance. They paid our claims exactly as they said they would. I will continue to carry for Trupanion insurance and recommend to all pet owners.

Disappointing Trupanion insurance
Not at all satisfied with the recent claim for my dog’s periodontal disease treatment. Nothing was covered and will not even consider future periodontal disease for coverage. My dog was rescued 6 months ago only but when I called Trupanion, they claimed this was pre existing. The pet shelter did not have records of his past medical history and certainly this should not be used as an excuse to prevent coverage. His tooth extraction was not even covered for reimbursement whereas this was included in the list of coverage. Truly disappointed with Trupanion insurance.

Healthy Paws is an amazing pet insurance company
Healthy Paws has been a life saver for us. Our cat suddenly started vomiting blood, so we made an emergency appointment. It was a very scary, heartbreaking, and emotional experience. The vet bill ended up being very hefty, which was stressful as well. Healthy Paws processed our claims in less than two days, and we had a reimbursement check in the mail in another couple of days – what a relief. Not only that, but they sent a really sweet email to check on how our cat was doing! Healthy Paws is a truly caring, efficient, and affordable pet insurance company. I highly recommend them for anybody who has pets. It takes a huge financial strain off of your back and allows you to focus on what’s truly important – your sick pet. On top of all that, they run a foundation which donates money to shelters and rescues. I can’t recommend them enough!
