Best insurance ever
I hear horror stories about friends dealing with their pet insurance or not having any insurance at all. We are glad my dog and cat are covered thru healthy paws. My dog ( Brooklyn) just had surgery to remove a large mass from his leg and from the rib area and knowing we were covered made it easier to handle. We submitted the bill and after deducting the doctors visit and deductible, we received a direct deposit 4 days later. They are amazing.

Mixed feelings
We signed up our dog Bruno for Nationwide pet insurance through my husband's work, because they offered a discount. We have him insured since early 2016. We did not have to file any claim until last year,when he tore his ACL. Everything went great, they reimbursed me right away, no questions asked. I am actually very happy with their plan and customer service. But here is the kicker. I just got my renewal in the mail and they raised my yearly rate nearly $400.00. I called and tried to get a legit answer, because - let's be honest this is beyond ridiculous, and they tried to tell me that it is just simply insurance cost going up. Well, I am looking for a new insurance now. My rate would be going to $95.00/month. That is not happening.

Buying pet insurance was the best investment we can make for our pets, Nationwide is the best insurer around.
I have never been more impressed with a pet insurance company. The insurance saved us from possibly having to put our dog to sleep before he was even 2. We wouldn't have been able to afford the surgery he needed and Nationwide was the reason our baby is still with us. The only thing slightly negative thing to say is that it takes much longer than it should for reimbursement.

I was not impressed with the premium increase, since last year.
My last claims were not properly handled. I was never contacted regarding missing information from my claim. I work in the insurance business, and take pride in following up with my policyholders, in cases such as mine. Took almost 2 months to get my claim settled.

takes too long to pay claims
I generally don't have a problem with how much of the claim is paid, but I think its ridiclous that it takes 3-4 weeks to pay them. I have to pay the vet out of my pocket first which is fine. But then to wait that long to be paid back is not. I have large dogs - mastiffs - that is the reason I got insurance on them. Everything that is done to them is expensive.

Happy Layla's claim was paid.
Very happy Layla's claim was paid. All of Layla's claims for her visits regarding eosinophilic granuloma have been paid. She has received acupuncture and AAT and these treatments have been covered. I believe they have helped Layla stay healthy. I think it is wonderful that Embrace covers these alternative treatments. I wish human insurance was so open minded. Wish Embrace staffers had said in words that I could not upgrade my policy when I signed up. My only complaint.

Terrific service
Figo has proven to be a good insurance provider. It’s not comprehensive insurance, but it covers accidents and illnesses that pop up with pets. I recently had a claim of nearly $5000 involving stomach surgery for my dog. I filed the claim in the morning, sent invoices and pictures of the stuff that was removed from her stomach. The claimed was closed that same afternoon and we received a check three days later. Fantastic!
