The service is better than expected. I haven't had an issues with reimbursements on claims either. I would recommend this to anyone with pets.

Horrible Claim Service
Worst claims service ever. They don't even look at claims for 2 months. They blame Markel & keep saying things are going to change but so far it's been several months trying to get a claim even looked at. I would not recommend this company. There are other pet insurance providers that will provide better service at the same rates.

I forwarded a claim last week and immediately received an e-mail confirming that it was going to be reviewed. The next day, another e-mail with detailed explanations of each receipt that was presented to the insurance with the amount covered by Pets Plus Us. Quick Payouts on Big Surgery Bill
Besides routine vet visits that are always covered (few hundred dollars a year) My Rottie needed the TPLO surgery for his knee that was almost $5,000. After submitting the forms money was in my account 4 business days later, no hassles or anything. I am really happy I never have to make a tough choice with my dog due to finances since he is fully covered.

I was sitting on a bunch bills
I was sitting on a bunch bills from when I took my fur baby into the Dr because he was having issues and I decided to turn the bills in for a claim,it was the complete opposite of what I thought was going to happen. I deal with employees insurance all day for my job so I know insurance companies do NOT like to pay out and they will fight you for everything. Not only did Trupanion do the complete opposite of that they- paid everything and automatic deposited my money in less then a week and it was the first time I ever made a claim. I AM so happy that I picked trupanion as our insurance on our fur babys!!

We have never had pet insurance before but when we got Roxy as a puppy we decided that we would try it out. What a fortunate decision on our part as before Roxy reached the age of 1 she was having some front end lameness. Trupanion has been excellent through our journey which involved surgery. Highly professional
Have been very happy with Trupanion, the employees I have spoken with over the phone for the last seven years have always been highly professional as well as kind and compassionate. My dog passed away last night and Chantel was kind and sensitive on the phone. My claims experience has been good with my dog as well as a second dog and a cat. Claims are processed and paid fairly quickly, sometimes super fast...I have had some paid same day I submitted them. Even if your claim gets denied, there is an appeal process and your denial can be overturned if you have the documentation and get the correct info from your veterinarians to the underwriters. Some companies will go out of their way to deny claims and make you fight to use the coverage you paid for. Trupanion does not operate that way, they truly care about their policyholders and our pets. Of course it is a business, but I honestly do not think they are ever happy about denying coverage to anyone.
