Great company, it's saved me a lot of money!

I signed up for MetLife when my puppy was 2 months old. Within a month I had to file my first claim, she got hold of some Ibuprofen and I couldn't tell how much she had actually taken, I took her to the vet and $700 later she was sent home and is fine. I submitted the claim and Metlife quickly paid the whole bill less my deductible. After that she needed several vaccinations and with the MetLife wellness package they were all paid for, then it was time to get her spayed. She's small so I wanted to get a laparoscopic spay done on her, it is more expensive than a regular spay - MetLife came through again and paid the entire bill of almost $700. Since then she pulled a muscle in her leg and had an ear infection - both were covered and MetLife paid the bills with no questions. I'm not sure they still offer this benefit but with my plan they pay for her monthly Trifexis flea & intestinal parasite preventative. My policy recently renewed and my rate went up by $1 (one) dollar a month, I was shocked! In the past with other pet insurance they would double your premium if you had any claims. I recommend MetLife to every pet owner I know, it's the best insurance out there today.

denies claims

My claim was denied because they considered an ear infection a preexisting condition because he had one several years ago. How an ear infection can be considered a "condition" is beyond me. Be sure to check all the possible reasons for denial before signing up with this company.

Best Decision Ever

After reviewing and comparing multiple insurance plans for my dog, I opted for TruPanion. I figured I haven't ever really dealt with any emergencies before, but it would good to have it just in case. Less than a month after signing up, my dog suddenly went anaphylactic. I rushed her to the vet and for 3 days transported her from day-vet to overnight-vet for continuous treatment. They said she had about a 20% chance of living. She made it through because I was able to have zero stress about the bills, and she was able to get top-notch medical treatment. I cannot imagine adding the stress of medical bills to my decision making in regards to her treatment. Trupanion, despite only having me as a client for one month, asked ZERO questions, and approved every invoice quickly. This allowed my sweet dog to be treated promptly. I sincerely believe that things may have gone differently had I not had the support of TruPanion. So, yeah, best decision ever!

PetsBest is amazing

Our 10-year-old Great Pyrenees, Yuna, was in severe pain and we didn't know why. We had her put out for full body x-rays and a couple of days later we got the news that she had an aggressive tumor deep in her thorax and had days to live. After having to make an almost instant decision to put our girl to sleep, we were hit with several large bills in just a couple of weeks. Yuna was a very special girl. We had rescued her from certain death in South Korea 9 years previously, and so we were extremely close to her. We were quite overcome with grief but, at the same time, we were so thankful and relieved that PetsBest took care of our fairly substantial claim with so little fuss, enabling us to focus on dealing with our loss. We went on a road trip the following week and rescued another Great Pyrenees, 14-week-old Daisy. Needless to say we signed her up for insurance with PetsBest right away.

Good coverage

Coverage is good, I've had coverage on my now 9.5 yo bloodhound who has had multiple surgeries. Cost has gone up each year some years much higher than previous but I'm assuming that's due to surgeries. However, it's still cheaper than any other comparable company. Bummer that When I tried to add my puppy 3 years ago her initial monthly cost was very high, higher than I had paid for my older dog when I first took out the policy I couldn't get a straight answer as to why. Helped a friend process a claim for her dog through Trupanion and their claim process is cumbersome...definitely not as easy as HP. Reimbursements are very fast. Customer service is usually excellent.
