Pets Plus Us | Pet Insurance Review

I have been using Pets Plus Us for the last 8 years. Owning large breed dogs can be very costly (a Newfoundland and a Bernese Mountain Dog) and having this insurance gives me the security of knowing that if something goes wrong, I have insurance to cover costs. I have always fount this company professional and easy to deal with (I wish my own health carrier was this professional and reliable!)

Very dissatisfied with Pets Plus Us claims. Going back to Trupanion. They cost more, but actually pay claims

Easy to use and not too long to get the money back

Would never go with this company or recommend it to anybody. They will deny every claim based upon technicalities or they will say preexisting condition even though the condition was diagnosed a year after the policy was in effect. Better off putting that money aside and use it if necessary. I even included a signed document from my doctor that it was not a pre-existing condition but to no avail. Money down the drain for nothing. They will sweet talk you into thinking that its the best coverage whereas when the time comes a way will be found to deny your claim. I wish I had read through the reviews before i signed up with them. Hundreds of 1 star critical reviews with very very few good reviews ( must be their underwriters - LOL ). Ombudsman complaint did not work. Now I have to go to Ontario Consumer Protection and better business bureau. I have been blatantly cheated and as a matter of principle I am not letting this go until I have exhausted all resources including spending money on a law suit. With them having cheated this many customers I am sure I will get more support. FYI - their ratings wer very good until 2 years back and then something happened with their management that decided to flush business ethics down the toilet.
