Easy Claim but paid Zero. Really read your contract, my mistake

Satisfied with experience as a whole, didn't pay anything out as I didn't understand the deductible process. Had a $1000 deductible, but had no idea I had a 20% insurance first, then pays. I thought had a 1000$ deductible, and any receipt over that would be paid at 80%. My bills came to approx. $1230, and they paid zero. I was shocked and disappointed, thinking would pay 80% of $230. I guess I didn't read the fine print. With rates nearly doubling, was disappointed. Buy the best policy you can afford, with the least deductible. My error in this case thinking this insurance would be like any other insurance I have, where once you meet deductible, plan pays.

Great from start to finish

My kitten (just 1yr old) had been neutered earlier in the day & started bleeding profusely in the night, ended up having emergency surgery by a wonderful vet and assistants- he was released to me the next day. I submitted my claim to Pets Best a few weeks later and had a response within 1 day and reimbursed in I believe 2-3 days after that. This is not the only time they have been so great. I have several pets and their claims have been paid quickly and clearly explained

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
