Pets Best - Pleasantly surprised!

I've carried pet insurance for many years and this is the first time I've filed a claim so I wasn't sure what to expect. One of my dogs had an accident which resulted in multiple vet visits including referrals and major surgery. Submitting claims was super easy. The review and payment process was fast and Pets Best kept me informed throughout. Dealing with them was a great experience. Highly recommend!

Useless insurance

I got insurance with PetsBest for a kitten that was only a few months old. Obviously he needed vaccinations and basic wellness care... After paying for literally one vaccine, they said I maxed out on the amount of help I can get for the year. $60/month for insurance but all of the other necessary vet visits and treatments were paid out of pocket... Ridiculous.

Terrible company

Terrible company. Similar to regular insurance they deny deny deny. Don't cover things clearly covered. And raise rates criminally. Mine just went up over 100 for next year. I've never even made a claim. Had it on my dog 8 years, never used it once. 100 increase. Screw these people. Do not use them. It's theft.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Get a quote for specific information on waiting periods in your state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
