Good to have

I have insurance for 4 cats alot of my friends see the price and opt not to then ask about it once their pet is diagnosed with seizures or cancer. There is something called pre-existing and at that time it is too late to shop for pet insurance as it is not Obama care and none of the insurance companies will take pre existing conditions. So you need to make a decision before that illness comes into play and decide how you will handle those situations with your pet. Overall I'm pleased with my pet insurance with pets best and my vet likes them as well.

So Glad to Have Pets Best

Twelve years ago, when they were fun and adorable kittens I began investing yearly in Pet’s Best high-deductible health insurance plan for my terrible twosome. The cats were healthy during their first ten years and between the two cats I only had to make a few claims until 2020 when Zoe developed diabetes. Now Zoe meets her deductible every year and Pets Best has reimbursed us consistently for her many tests, insulin and emergency vet visits. Yesterday she experienced sudden blindness. Our vet referred her to a kitty opthomologist and I am arranging her first appointment. I’m sure the visit will be costly and yes, she is just a cat. But, she is a cat with health insurance!

The best - Pets Best!!

I have had insurance coverage through Pets Best for all 3 of my dogs for three years now, and thankfully have never had to file a claim until now. Prior to Pets Best, I had coverage through a different provider and I am happy to say that the claim process with Pets Best has far exceeded the claim process I have experienced with this previous provider! The process couldn't be made any easier! My dog recently came down with a bad case of Pancreatitis that landed him at the emergency vet hospital with a large unexpected bill. Within less than a week of submitting my claim online (which was super quick and easy with no headache involved - just uploaded my itemized invoice), Pets Best had already reimbursed me for the entire bill minus my deductible and co-pay with no questions asked. Even better, they did so through ACH instead of check which made it even faster. The full amount was in my account within 10 days of submitting the claim. I am so pleased with the service I have received with Pets Best and will be recommending them to everyone I know. From Oakley and I both, thank you Pets Best!

Shady, Shady Company!

So frustrating. After our dog tested positive for heartworm in January 2023, I called Pets Best to question whether or not this would be covered under our policy. The lady I spoke to said it would be covered and even gave me a list of prescriptions to give to our vet so then the medication would be covered too. At this time if Pets Best would have said heartworm wasn't covered, we would have canceled our policy during that phone call, because the amount of money they charge each month is outrageous for any illness not to be covered. But I was told it was covered. However, all the claims I submitted were denied because they said we did not do preventative care. (The reason we did not do preventative care was that our vet also mentioned it wasn't that big of a deal since there were no cases in Colorado at that time.) They went out of their way to contact our vet and question them about our claims. Clearly, they were digging and looking for any reason to deny our claims. I am shocked they went out of their way to find reasons not to pay and in the process take full advantage of their customers. When I called in January I was NEVER told that it would ONLY be covered if we did preventative care. Obviously, they knew this was the policy because they went out of their way to contact our vet. All our claims were denied. If I was told this information in January, I would have said we did not give our dog preventative care because our vet also mentioned there were no cases in Colorado and it seemed like it wasn't that big of a deal. But I would have understood their policy and realized there was no use wasting my time submitting claims. But I would have just canceled both policies for both our dogs right then and there. Why pay for an outrageous insurance policy if they aren't going to pay when your dog gets sick? Since that phone call when we received misinformation, we paid 5 more months of premiums, we have paid February, March, and April, not sure if May was charged yet or not. I requested to be reimbursed for just those months and they have been giving me the run-around and telling me that they are not responsible or liable for what their employees say over the phone. If I get my money back I will take this review down. If it is still up, well you know they did not do right by this customer! Greedy company with no accountability.

bad review

paying over 200.00 a ,month and they will no longer cover for allergies because we reached the max benefit of $7000.00. so in other words if she had this as a puppy it would have only covered her for maybe 7 years. she had ear infection and they did not cover because they said it falls under allergies. Vet said it was not allergies. Would not recommend Pets Best. It is not good for the life of the pet as they state in their ad. We have had pets best insurance since 2011, but when pet gets old and starts having issues coverage stops on many things because of cap on benefits. Very unhappy with them, they also take forever to process and pay claims,
