Pets Best | Pet Insurance Review

Our dog has had a few issues lately that caused us to take her to the vet hospital or emergency. We are so grateful to have this insurance! We would not be able to give her the same level of care without it. They are prompt and professional and the coverage is excellent.

My cat experienced an unforeseen emergency and passed away just one day before the coverage began. I had started the policy with Pets Best two weeks prior with no knowledge that she was even ill, after my previous insurer notified me that they would no longer be providing pet insurance. When I called Pets Best to (calmly and politely) ask if an exception could be made for the expenses given the circumstances, I was told no. Neither of the agents I spoke to offered any condolences for my loss. I understand that this is their policy, but I hoped that as a company that claims to care about pets and their people, they would show some compassion. I will not be insuring any pets with them in the future.

I would never recommend Pets Best to anybody who cares about their fur baby. They are slow with claims and on top of that, raised my policy by 42.15% and would not explain to me why or provide me with a breakdown. Make sure you do your homework on these companies because they trap you after the first one.

After several years of having a policy, this company never paid one claim. Their excuse was always “contacted veterinarian for more information.” According to the vet they never contacted them, and they never paid a claim. Total waste of money.
