Terrible

How can I get denied because of a pre-existing condition when 4 vets couldn't figure out what was wrong with my little girl? These people are the true scum of the earth. Don't waste your money. I'm confident that any positive review is from a vpi employee. Literally 4 vets, including neurologist and internal medicine specialist. No diagnosis. That's not what I'm upset about; these miserable scumbags said that it was a pre-existing condition. My kitty passed at the age of 10 months. She deserved better, so does anyone that cares enough for their pet to get insurance. VPI WILL NOT HELP!!!! They look for any excuse to get out of their responsibilities. Dog sh**. Pun intended.

Great Insurance

I have carried VPI Pet insurance for 15 years and covered 3 of my dogs. Two of which are no longer with me. I am so thankful that I had this insurance especially when the two got older and in their senior years I had to file many claims. My little one now just has semi annual shots and denials. VPI was always very caring and professional. I would highly recommend this company to cover your animals.

Never will use them again

Very disappointed. VPI will deny your claim stating it is a pre-existing condition when it is not. Then you have to appeal it with all the records of your pet for the last 12 months even though they already have them with the initial claim. Will not recommend them, nor use them again. There are far too many other pet insurance companies that I can use. Or save myself the money and the aggravation and not use any at all. Per Consumer Reports all are a waste of money. On this review, it wanted to know if it is a dog or cat, it is neither, but an exotic so I had to make up an animal

Waste of money - they don't cover what you need.

I have been paying into the full comprehensive plan for years. My dog just needed surgery for elbow bone that chipped off and needed to be removed. They only covered $750 of a $4K surgery. I have spent so much money on the monthly premium, I should have saved it as I would be ahead, even paying for the surgery out of pocket.

VPI helped gives us more time with our boy!

I've been so happy with VPI since I've enrolled 3 years ago. Their claims process is easy and you can track the progress online and their reimbursement is more than fair. My Rottweiler was recently diagnosed with osteosarcoma and had to have a leg amputated. They paid for the entire surgery! I couldnt believe it! He's been accident prone his whole life so this isn't our first claim and they've always been great. I work at a large pet retailer and tell people almost every day to sign up with VPI. I've heard so many disappointing stories about other insurers but I assure you they're the real deal and will be there when you need them most!
