Great experience with Healthy Paws

Our 1 1/2 year old Golden Retriever had a recent onset of stomach illness that caused severe dehydration. He was lethargic and weak, would not eat or drink and had severe diarrhea. The vet was amazing and gave him all the supportive care including iv fluids, pain meds, antibiotics and diagnostic testing necessary. Over a day and a half period, they were able to get him onto the road to recovery. This illness was unexpected and expensive. Not only did we have the best veterinary care available for our boy but we also knew we had Healthy Paws insurance in our corner. Within 24 hours of receiving his claim, they were already processing it. We received our reimbursement within the week and they checked with us on Leo's recovery as well. I can't say enough about how amazing they have been to deal with. I highly recommend Healthy Paws.

Wonderful Customer Service

My almost two year-old golden retriever has had more health issues than we can keep track of. We signed up for Healthy Paws shortly after we realized that we were dealing with an allergy-sensitive dog and likely had many more vet bills in our future. Every time I've submitted a claim I've received my reimbursement check within a week. Their customer service is excellent and there is no haggling for coverage. I also recently decreased my percent reimbursement that was to take effect next month. However, in the intervening time my golden was hospitalized with a gastric obstruction. Healthy Paws took the time to carefully review my account and reimbursed me at my original (higher) level since the lower reimbursement had not yet taken effect when the illness occurred. Not many insurance companies are that honest (pet or human!) I highly recommend Healthy Paws to any pet owner. The monthly payment is definitely worth the assurance that you won't be left with a huge vet bill in case of any emergency.

Great Insurance!

Our yellow lab Elvis had a run of summer troubles recently - jarred his shoulder at the beach and developed a limp - poor baby, if it was up to him he would go run after the ball all day - no matter how it hurt! His vet took xrays, he had medicine, all sorts of costly experiences. We submitted his bill - and were so happy with quick and immediate payment. Then he had some summer hot spots - more medicine! We got an email from Healthy Paws and I thought - oh boy, they probably want to drop him! But no, they asked how he was and for a photo! They have been a great partner in keeping him healthy and happy.

Healthy Paws: Fast, Fair, and Pleasant

Our 8 month old German Shepherd Phoenix exhibited a limping in her left front leg. We took her to the vet where “pano” was indicated but while investigating that issue the vet discovered that the two lymph nodes on either side of her lower throat were greatly enlarged. Yikes!!!! He did a biopsy of one of the nodes along with extensive blood tests to try to find the cause. At this point we are not sure of the cause but have ruled out several of the more serious possibilities. The total vet bill so far is $1068.08. I submitted documentation for the claim by email on Monday 9/10. That same day, Healthy Paws went to work on the claim, asking for some additional vet notes directly from the vet. The vet supplied the notes on Tuesday 9/11 at which time I got an email from Healthy Paws indicating that the information was complete and the claim was being processed. On Thursday 9/13 I received notification from Healthy Paws that the claim had been processed in an email which included the explanation of benefits. Notice that the claim was already processed on day 4. So they are fast, but did they pay what the policy said would be paid? Yes, to the penny. My policy has an annual $250 deductible with 90% coverage. NOT covered is the exam fee of $36.50 (as stated in the policy), and so the calculation went as .9*(1068.08 – 36.50) – 250 = $678.42. So they are fast, pay what they are supposed to pay, but are they pleasant to work with? Yes, definitely pleasant. I have communicate
