Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

My husband and I got Healthy Paws Pet Insurance for our dog, Billie, when she was young and healthy. We wondered if it would just be a waste of money, and fretted a bit about another monthly payment, but decided that we never wanted to be in a position where money had to factor into a decision regarding Billie's health care. We are so grateful we made this decision. Just last month Billie had to have surgery to correct a congenital issue. The surgery was recommended to ease her comfort and ensure that the recurring infection she was having didn't become antibiotic resistant (we had already gone through 3 rounds of high powered antibiotics to clear it). It was estimated to cost between $2,800-3,800. The full amount would have really affected our finances. And given it was not for a life-threatening situation, it would have been a much more difficult decision to make without insurance. However, since we had the security of our Healthy Paws Insurance, and knew that we'd only pay 20% out-of-pocket, it was an easy decision to make. Billie's surgery went well and she is now all healed up and doing great. We will continue paying our monthly fee gladly. At this point, we have received more money back from Healthy Paws than we have paid in monthly payments. And this is for an otherwise completely healthy dog! I use the Healthy Paws phone app to track my account and claims. Turning in receipts is as easy as taking a photo on my phone and hitting send. Sometimes our vet sends them from the office for us. The reimbursement checks are mailed promptly. And after Billie's surgery, we received a personal email asking how she was doing and wishing us all well. I thought that was a nice touch. I strongly recommend Healthy Paws Pet Insurance for peace of mind and lifelong care of our furry family members!

I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate having Healthy Paws insurance. I've had other insurances on other pets in past years and Healthy Paws is by far the best. They work on a claim in a timely manor and ALWAYS check in on my dog's recovery. I have recommended them to several friends that are thinking of getting a dog and I have recommended them to my vet's office as they are always asking how efficient Healthy Paws processes claims. The ability to choose my own deductible and monthly payment is good for me. They always process my claims quickly. I would not be without this insurance! My dog has had several serious surgeries and I couldn't have taken care of it if it wasn't for Healthy Paws.

When my little Emma came up lame, and was diagnosed with a torn CCL, Healthy Paws was there. Emma had to have TPLO surgery, which was $3,500. Healthy paws paid the claim quickly, and at the rate I signed up for; 90% reimbursement. They even sent an e-mail to check up on her.

Healthy paws is the first and now the only insurance company I will ever use for my animals. I have turned many people and friends on to this absolutely essential part of responsible pet ownership. I started with them three years ago with my first frenchie Ollie. After only one month Ollie took a tumble down a few steps in the house and he broke his elbow. Surgery with a specialist was over 4K. I processed the claim and had my check within 10 days. This company is amazing! Sure you have to have your ducks in a row. Have your dog checked by a vet and have the medical records sent but after that it's a breeze to submit claims. I use the app on my iPhone it's as easy as pressing the submit a claim button, take a photo of the bill and click submit. That's it! I also have my frenchie Batman covered and about 3 weeks ago he was showing signs of pain. I took him to three different vets including two hospital stays two seperate weekends. He had a reaction to the steroid and he needed an oxygen tank due to his breathing problems. 7k in vet bills all covered at 80%. I have never had a claim denied. Plus they send follow up emails to check on your pet. They truly care. I'm a client for life. I just bought a new golden puppy and just added her to the policy as well. We are life long partners and I will never own another dog without coverage with Healthy Paws. They are truly a god sent and I'm nothing but grateful!

I work for a large animal hospital and I see many clients using various different insurances. I chose Healthy Paws because after seeing what clients sometimes go through with the other companies I have never heard a complaint about Healthy Paws. I can't say enough good things about this company. They have been wonderful to deal with. They process claims quickly and unlike some other companies they actually seem to care about the pets!
