Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

Our 1 year old American Bulldog underwent surgery a month ago and since we have never used pet insurance we had to call the customer service to understand the process. They told us what to do and walked us through all we need before, and after the surgery. The reimbursement process was easy and it was given to us in a good timely manner. I was really pleased and happy that we chose healthy paws insurance.

Besides having very reasonable rates, Healthy Paws makes it super easy to pay your premiums and file a claim. They also process and pay your claim very quickly. Our 1 year old Cavalier KC Spaniel has had several unexpected visits to the veterinarian that would have cost us upwards of $1800.00 had it not been for this insurance. I even got a follow up email checking to see how our dog was doing which was a nice surprise. I'm so happy I chose Healthy Paws.

It was totally unexpected and horrible accident – my 3 yr-old Chihuahua got hit by a car. I rushed to bring him his regular vet and was told that he’d got Diaphragmatic Hernia due to the shock. We were sent to 24-hour emergency hospital and he had a surgery on the same day. Thanks to the doctors and staff’s best care, his surgery was successfully done and he now recovered completely! Although saving his life was the most important thing, but I was concerning about how I should handle the cost for the big money at the same time. I used to have pet insurance policies for my older cats with other pet insurance company, but they didn’t reimburse anything for meaningless reasons. Claims this time were actually the first large ones I submitted to Healthy Paws and I doubt that they would reimburse the large amount due to bad past experience with other company, however; they processed my claim SO quickly and made reimbursement as they promised at the enrollment! It was such an unlucky accident that happened to my dog and me, but we also had quite a few lucky factors. Receiving the best care by the best doctors and hospital staff and having the best insurance policy that saved my doggie’s life and my living.

My 1 1/2 year old puppy Hickston is a border collie mix, and tends to get himself into trouble. We have had several trips to the emergency vet, as he sometimes likes to chew or eat things he shouldn't. We the doctors go over the bills, I always sigh with relief knowing that I will be able to afford whatever the cost is, due to Hickston's amazing health insurance plan. Uploading the receipt from the vet onto the app on my phone to file the claim is so easy, and makes it manageable in my busy day-to-day life. I can't recommend this insurance company enough! They are simply the best!

It's important that you closely exam how your claims are paid out. This company loves to apply the coinsurance level PRIOR to apply the deductible. This saves them a few bucks and prolongs you meeting your deductible. If you also notice this, I urge you to file a complaint with your state's Department of Insurance. This is very deceptive.
